Help with dayz

I am new to dayz, i recently bought arma 2 and arma 2 operation arrowhead.

I was woundering... should i donwload dayz from steam or download from this page?

And what is the difference between the 2 mirrors on this page? Play Withsix and DAYZCOMMANDER?

for playing dayz in my opinion use dayzcommander from here

remember to lauch steam as admin and run both games to the menus before installing dayz

I recommend Commander even though the mod is attainable through Steam. I haven't tried Six but according to a general opinion Commander is better. Commander not only keeps the mod and ArmA II beta up to date, but you can also download secondary DayZ maps such as Namalsk through it and it keep them updated. I don't think Steam/Six have this feature.

I am new to Dayz now when i am in the game and trying to access MAP there is nothing.

So my question is that do we have to get a map also to play or that comes automatically.

If is Auto then why i cant see the map.

I am using steam. Installed and run ARMA2 and OA both then try to run the game using Dayzmod.

Please help.

You'll need to find a map in-game, then "M" will bring it up for you. The best place to look is in Supermarkets, but when you're looting supermarkets keep your ears peeled for others, try and stay away from the windows and get in and out quickly.

You can use an online map in the Steam in-game browser if you want to find your way around...
