victusmortuus 1074 Posted March 9, 2013 The new Cherno and Elektro are going to be awesome. What with car wrecks, loads of enterable buildings as well as the new loot spawns - you could literally explore the cities for hours.Zombies are too fast now.. -Guardian- 206 Posted March 9, 2013 i've never even heard of any fighting going on in berezino,Sounds to me like you havent really played the map then. Some of the most intense firefights have been in Berezino for me.

gambles 234 Posted March 9, 2013 They should definitely absolutely positively keep the iconic cities in the game, however those pesky sniper hills could use some love in the form of blocking buildings or something maybe? Trying to compromise as that is the source of most bambi griefing.
sixfeetgiantbunnyrabbit 40 Posted March 10, 2013 When i tried Lingor for the first few times months ago i was very pleased to see i always spawned far far away from the biggest city which name i already forgot. It felt like some sort of end game trying to reach that place which i never did by the way in my approximately three tries. Getting to the city was a real challenge for me, as the OP in one of his follow up posts suggested, it was a survival adventure just trying to get there.i have to say i'm very bad at computer games, something i recommend to all of you: just suck at what you're doing. There's nothing the devs can come up with for the standalone immersion-wise that could compete with sucking at playing the game. You can't imagine the suspense of a game like dayz when you're really bad at it...i know they wont move Cherno or Elektro north of Chernarus but i agree with the OP it would add some survival aspects just to get there. If they leave Cherno and Elektro just as they are but can add an even larger city, a real urban area, north, that would make the map perfect for me.
floogy (DayZ) 25 Posted March 10, 2013 I'm hoping with the new loot system things are more distributed. So instead of relying on the three main sites for items you can find everything you need elsewhere. You'd still be able to find loot faster in the main spots but it wouldn't be almost a necessity to hit those spots first. Or at least distribute the high end items more evenly to avoid the bottlenecks. Like being able to find military gear in military truck wrecks. Military roadblocks or corpses with gear would be another good way to distribute this. So even though you could get more military loot at the NWAF, it would be possible to find the same things in smaller quantities elsewhere. Maybe even small military camps out in the woods. Which would make those long treks through the woods cooler and more rewarding.I think one big thing that could help would be spawning randomly across the map. Instead of having spawn points along the coast. Make each town/city it's own point that you spawn within 1500m. Then you'd be good and lost. Starting inside a house or near a tent would be cool too, make a quick look around for anything you can grab then get out. Just being able to spawn on the coast and head for Cherno or Elektro makes things a bit too bottle necked. Plus it would largely end sniping noobs for sport. The two big cities are of course still going to be death traps, as they should be. But I'd like to be able to play the game and see players in places other than there.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 10, 2013 If you want to avoid the high risk/reward Chernlektro death run you can always opt for the quieter route up through Zelenegorsk, or head to Berezino if you spawn on the east coast.
bfisher 561 Posted March 10, 2013 The problem now is there is not "best route" to anywhere. Sure you can avoid Cherno and Electro...but to do what? Head up to Zelengorsk to get some firepower at NWAF or Stary, which are almost as bad? Then you get bored and head back down to the coast with your new guns? I wouldnt head back down to the coast when I got geared, that just sounds like an aweful idea. It's this kind of mentality I don't like. People that think the only fun to have is at Cherno/Elektro geared or not. My best moments have always taken place inland, why go back to the coast? If I spawn in these cities ill do my best to get in and get out somewhat geared without ever looking back.
CS14 133 Posted March 10, 2013 Yet another thread bitching about getting killed in cities, not surprising. Just because you can't manage to stay alive in cities doesn't mean it should get removed from the game. I go into cities with my squad all the time and we usually don't have problems. Kill or be killed, it's a tough world out there. Reppin' -68,000 humanity all day every day.

Hetstaine 10852 Posted March 10, 2013 so you just look around extremely large areas, finding used fireplaces etc. how on earth do you know that you're tracking someone? how do you know they're online at the same time as you? the idea of tracking in this game just doesnt make sense to me. it doesnt seem plausible or practical. The thing is you do not know if they are online , you may find something so simple as a single tent with a few items or a car stashed in some trees, or you come across a looted shop with some dead zeds and you can be fairly sure someone is in the area..or at least has been in the area within a certain time frame. You can track someone if you can connect the dots of their journey, a dropped bag with items in it out the back of a shop or building, all the good items taken from a lootspawn, dead zeds further on, possibly a dead animal, a broken car in the bush, a dead player, single shots in the distance etc and you can get a general direction of travel....keeps you on your toes :) The problem now is there is not "best route" to anywhere. Sure you can avoid Cherno and Electro...but to do what? Head up to Zelengorsk to get some firepower at NWAF or Stary, which are almost as bad? If I spawn in these cities ill do my best to get in and get out somewhat geared without ever looking back. The two big cities will obviously stay in game , just hoping they add more to the interior and up past the airfield so it is more of draw for the 'townies'. Personally i gtfo away from the coast as soon as i have some morphine, once i have that i won't even hang around long enough to look for food, drink or a weapon and i certainly don't waste my time coming back down once i am decently geared. Easier kills can be found at the coast if that is a persons certain style but you just do not seem to have anything to lose by hanging around the coastal reagion. Up top takes a little bit of travel time and like Guardian said, most of my really cool adventures have been had far away from the coastal shooting spree.
