Operation Arrowhead & DayZ give me a blank screen

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this thread has been discussed before, but I'm new to the forum.

Ok so I recently purchased the Arma II Standard Version/ Operation Arrowhead/ Arrowhead Beta & DayZ Pack, the standard Arma II game plays no problem at all on 1366x768 resolution, but when I try and start up Operation Arrowhead, Arrowhead Beta or DayZ I just get a blank screen then the only way I can get the display to return is to unplug the graphics card from the monitor and plug it back in which defaults back to the Windows 7 screen.

The spec of my PC is not bad - Quad Core 3.0Ghz i5 CPU, 8gb 1600 DDR3 Ram, ATI XFX R7770 Graphics Card - this PC plays any other game I have tried including Crysis 1, 2 & 3 on high settings which is one of the toughest games CPU/Graphics wise & obviously Arma II - so I'm at a complete loss -- any suggestions would be welcome,

Cheers.

No mate, I didn't go through any installation guides(didn't know there were any) -- the really annoying thing is, I built my mate his first ever Gaming PC last week, installed Arma II and DayZ & it all worked first time on his PC - All I did was startup Arma II, then Arrowhead, then Arrowhead Beta & DayZ - he has been playing all week and I still haven't got on - sod's law I suppose.

But thank you very much for the quick response, I will try the installation guides as soon as I get home tonight & let you know,

Thanks again.

Well, managed to get this sorted following the installation guides - thank you Boneboys.

I had to start Operation Arrowhead in 'windowed mode' then went into 'video options' & had to change the 'Interface Resolution' & '3D Resolution', I then started a game & saved it, then when I re-started Operation Arrowhead/ Beta & DayZ in normal view mode it all worked spot on, thanks again Boneboys.
