zombiekiller777 10 Posted March 5, 2013 ye, the main reason day z runs bad is that you need processor power, with the i5 you should get it to run well but im no real expert but im pretty sure it will run great, anyway the standalone will be less processor needed so the standalone should run even better :)
TG ! Jimmy 216 Posted March 5, 2013 If it's all the same, I'd go with the Sandy Bridge family of i5 CPU personally (2600k being my favorite iteration of i5). They tend to run a bit cooler from what has been going around, and they overclock very easily (should you ever care to tinker). I know people that run these well into the 4.xGhz range on air cooling easily. As far as motherboards go, I'm a fan of Asus products--but that's not to say there aren't plenty of viable options out there. I have always enjoyed their quality, and features, not to mention they cover many pricepoints. Moving on, I would go right ahead to the Corsair H100i cooler if you're considering an all-in-one water system--as it's their finest offering. In my (mostly jaded) opinion, if you're going to spend any money on cooling there is no sense settling for a small unit--especially with all-in-one water systems. A high quality air cooler will surpass a small AIO Water setup in almost every case. Go bigger here, and be glad you did!Sounds like you're building a nice machine, if you're looking for some rough examples of FPS you can expect check out this review on the 660ti from Guru3d (the link will bring you to the FPS testing page where they show performance on Battlefield 3). They are top-notch reviewers in the enthusiast world, and should be able to really show you a pretty close glimpse of what to expect--although I'd say you'll have buttery smooth frames with that rig in most any game at most (reasonable) resolutions!Cheers
