Dear Rocket... - "different temperature zones" clothing etc.

Recommended Posts

Hello Rocket...

It would be nice and maybe more realistic, when we have different temperature zones on map..

For example, the more you go in north - the colder it is and your temperature is sinking, going from red into blue...- I heard in standalone, there are different clothing.

So it could be possible to get cold, when you go into north-region without the suitable clothing.

For example northwest airfield is the coldest point - and much snow/ice..

The best weapons are only findable into north-zones... - so its much more harder to get them and to survive in this zones...

Options to survive in the north region:

- suitable clothing, like jacket...

- making fireplace for warming (temperature goes up)

- killing animals like bears or deers - you could make clothing like cloak or something on your own(combat-knife is needed)

- going by heli or vehicle - annother option would be, that you have problems starting engine in cold zones.. (so you need special "jump-start-item" which can be found on loot)

Other brainstorming of this idea would be welcome :)

It would be really nice, if ROCKET reads this thread.

thank you all for reading and expansion-thinking of my idea.

greez :beans:

I don't think you'd ever notice a difference in temperature when travelling 20km (max.) north. I mean, I barely notice the difference between London and Edinburgh when I go to visit family and that's 300 miles north. The only logical way to make this work would be to include mountainous regions but Chernarus+ is already completed and AFAIK doesn't include mountains.

I also tell you all annother problem with dayz-game...

when a new play enters the game and he has friends with heli, they can take them by heli everywhere on map to get the best items..- thats not fair.

By modding this temp-zones a new player must find clothing at first, that he can survive in the north(where you get better weapons etc)

in dayz you can get too fast high-end weapons... <_<

nearly everyone runs fast with a silenced weopon... ;)

I also think, for longtime-play the producers must find longterm-options for making hard survive...

Its to easy - and after nearly 1 hour gameplay you have all to survive... - than it goes up into "counter-strike" PvsP... :/

There is always a temperature differential in my pants whenever I eat beans! :o I'm kidding hehe.

Realistically it would be easy to trigger a temperature change when going up mountains, pik kozlova is one example. In fact any elevation in the game could lower temperature. As for different areas of cherno, I think the average temp on the ground would probably stay the same.

Sorry to say but life's not fair. And your 'proposed' fix for this won't stop people from 'twinking' out new spawns. The group with the heli would either have guns and equipment ready for the new guy or would just take them to places to get cold weather gear. As to your OP, the landscape wouldn't transfer from warm to 'snow' that quickly. Rocket has mentioned at one point (no source to back up) that he would like to have 'seasons' (spring, summer, fall, winter) but would have to be something on the back burner for after Standalone's 'offical' release.

I also have no problem, if all is winterlandscape ^^ :) - but I recomend my post not only for the new guy thing...

When Rocket put this new stuff with clothing, this could be also usefull/modable for this temperature-thing... ^^

It was brought up in the chat the moderators had with Matt. He said it was something that they were interested in developing in the future but (for whatever reason) seasons would require the entire map to be rebuilt from the ground up, so it definitely won't be something that's featured in the initial release.
