Need help choosing the right laptop for playing Dayz in mind

Recommended Posts

Long story short, I am getting a part time job for the sole purpose of getting enough money to get a gaming laptop that can run Dayz. My plan is to get enough by Summer maybe. I will be earning around 400 eu per month, maybe more. Some mid-range graphics card, middle range processor, you know?

I am from Europe so all those sweet US custom laptop companies are off for me (don't wanna play 200 for shipping).

What are some good gaming laptops in 800 - 900 euro range? I have read a lot of reviews, but I was wondering if someone actually OWNS one and plays Dayz on one in this price range maybe they could give me an advice?

Thank you in advance

I have a Medion Akoya laptop, it can run it but I would only get it if all other options were unavailable.

Build a gaming desktop you will be a lot happier with the performance, and the price. :)

I'm not sure about availability in your region, but I use an Asus G74-SX laptop for work/gaming and it plays DayZ just fine. I've upgraded mine to 16GB of RAM and an SSD--but you could get away with running it bone stock just fine. https://www.asus.com/ROG/G74SX/

The MSI GT780DXR was a good buy, and from

eBay it cost me about £1000 so maybe around 1200eu. But it's a good year and a half old now so may be cheaper.

I use it for all my gaming, and it runs DayZ on High at a solid 50FPS.

Unfortunately I can't recommend the Alienware M17x purely on price ... the R4 starts at 1400 euros and will easily hit 1800 with moderate spec upgrades.

I recommend a desktop, in the long term you will definitely appreciate it much more as you will be able to upgrade easily.

As much as I'd recommend a desktop, I already had a laptop build in mind. You'd have to find a way to get this thing to Europe though.

It needs some upgrades, so I'll make it simple with pics:

First, choose the CPU that has the blue dot beside it:

Next up, you need an OS to even make you computer work. Choose one of the ones I've boxed for you. Don't even consider the others.

Next the RAM:

Those are the three you absolutely need.

The price:

This thing is 2-3 times as powerful as the MX14.

This is well worth every penny.

Isn't the OS something he can chose for himself? If you're paying the same money for W8, there is no way I'd be downgrading.
