coolster4001 6 Posted June 18, 2012 “Day z Survival Guide”Contents1-A.Spawning In1-B.Locating Yourself1-C.Where to Go2-A.How to travel2-B.Art of Stealth2-C.Other Players3-A.Killing Zombies3-B.PVP [Player versus Player]3-C.Inventory Management4-A.GUI5-B.Server List6-C.How to Install1-A.Spawning In-When you first spawn in, you may want to do a several amount of things. But some of the things you must do is mandatory. Such as deciding your plan for this entire life. Like what you want to do in your DayZ Life. Such as “I want to build/repair a car” or “I want to go on a player killing spree-or a zombie spree” But whatever this may be, make sure you at least stick to your goal. 1-B.Locating Yourself-After deciding your plan for your life, (Found in section 1-A) You need to locate yourself. Just so you simply know where you are, and where you would like to go. Now, I have never actually played DayZ yet, but what I know is, that the game tells you for a split second, where you are located.1-C.Where To Go -You will always spawn on the coast of Chernarus. I personally would head to the nearest town. Based on a map of Chernarus, You will most likely want to go to either one of theese places-Elektro, Cherno, Or Berezino. Elektro & Cherno are very close to eachother. So, if you spawn near there, you get the best of both worlds.2-A.How To Travel-So, after you have spawned, I told you where to go in section 1-C. But what I didn’t tell you in that section is how to get where you going. Well, in Arma2, there are 6 Modes of moving. Yes, I know that is a lot but they all have different uses. I will exaplain each mode, 1 by 1. 1.Running[No Caution] This mode is mostly used to travelling long distances, such as running from Cherno, to Berezino. 2.Running[With Caution] This mode isnt really effective, and is rarely used. Because first, it is as loud was Combat Crouching, but even slower. So it isnt effective for sneaking, or travel. Try not to use this mode. 3.Combat Crouching[No Caution] This mode is very good for travelling, and sneaking. But mostly, for travelling. Because it is moderately fast, and also doesn’t produce too much noise. This mode is very popular among DayZ Players 4.Combat Crouching[With Caution] This mode is the very 3rd best mode for sneaking, and the maybe 4th best for travel. Because it isnt that loud, and it is very sneaky. 5.Prone[No Caution] This mode is the best for sneakng. Trying to travel with this mode will most likely take an entire game period [About 2-5 Hours] Because it is soo slow. But it isnt the slowest means of moving. 6.Prone[With Caution] So, as I said before, that Prone[No Caution] isnt the slowest means of travel, well this is. But, it is the ultimate form of sneak. Against other players, it varies on the other players skill & sight. But againt zombies, this is key for hiding, or crawling across a very “Crowded” road. Elias (DayZ) 57 Posted June 21, 2012 I like your effort :-) Guides are always welcome, even if there are plenty. You can allways try to make a better one.Like Janeral said: there is a new players subforum with tutorials, better to post there. Are you planning on playing Day-z yourself, or is this not a possibility? It would help to improve your guide.Good luck to you, safe travels!
