Mountain Dew Rarity and Purpose?

So yesterday after two guys crashed a chopper me and my friend went to look their bodies him providing overwatch and me looting he said someone was coming so I ducked behind a car and he shot the approaching player, after I was sure he was dead I looted his body and found a Winchester and ammo and a Mountain Dew never having seen one before but heard about them in game I took it.

So my question is the Dew different from other sodas besides its rarity? And if so why?

Should I covet the Dew? Or just drink it.

P.S tried searching didn't see any specific threads on Mountain Dew.

I forgot why it was rare, I found one at the market like 2 nights ago and I almost never see them, guess it's just like a trophy to not drink it lol Tho if that was the case I was they added a gold watch.

yep... I did the same thing. I took 3 cans of mt dew off a dead body that I found (he was mauled and eaten) to green mountain. Climbed to the top of the tower and placed the dew under the red hatch that you cant open... Its said that within that hatch is a man who has locked himself away and knows all the secrets of the dew and the viral outbreak. After that I left as quickly as I could and was later hit by a streak of luck. I found quite a few good weapons as well as 3 cars (fully repaired) and a heli.

The dew will save you if you offer it right, Drink it just once and youll never see light.

There is a secret gun you can get with the mountain dew. You must get 1,000 zombie kills, 20 murders, 10 bandit kills, and have one can of mountain dew. You must go the NWA and camp in the middle of it for 2 hours. After camping for EXACTLY 2 hours (It can't be a second later) you must scream over direct chat, ALMIGHTY MOUNTAIN DEW! GRANT UPON ME YOUR POWERS AND SHOW MY TESTICLES THE WAY!

After doing that Rocket will come from the sky in a majestic way as the clouds part and light shines upon you. All players will be teleported to you. They will be without weapons and exalting you. Rocket will hand you a silenced RPG that shoots rockets like a machine gun. You will be allowed to kill everyone and fly around on a majestic pony.

If you fail to do this Rocket will kick you into DayZ hell where you will be chased for eternity by fire breathing zombies.

The Mountain Dew can is in reality a conduit. It allows you to come into direct contact with the mountain dew and bean gods. If you are worthy, finding a can enables you to become a spirit of vengeance, a holy vanquisher that kills any and all the mountain dew gods deem unworthy.

Those found unworthy will find themselves immediately and savagely cut down, and if they survive that, they will be plagued with bad luck as long as the can is in their possession.

Those who are worthy will find that carrying cans will protect them and pull them through impossible situations. I shall take myself as an example. Due to the mountain dew gods bestowing their protection upon me, I find that I can survive damage unendurable by others. Right when I require it, the server may lag. I've been hit by .50BMG rounds and not give a fuck. I bleed mountain dew.

The only way to keep the gods' favor, however, is to kill in their name. They feed on the blood of the innocent. Keep their favor, and you shall feel their protection everywhere you go... Be found unworthy or betray them. And you will feel their wrath.

So besides the obvious troll above I read up on the Green Mountain legend and about using a radio to receive the morse code message that reads:

The Morse code translates to: We are no longer alive STOP This message will play every hour if operators are no longer responsive STOPMESSAGE Unable to quarantine subject change STOPMESSAGE This is followed by a roar, which is believed to be a zombie.

Creepy... And you say there's a red hatch?

yep. I made that same connection. Also the coordinates that are read out are all the locations of the deer stands. There definitely is something peculiar about Green mountain.

There was a lead guy who was like a priest or something and he had about 4 followers who went out into chernarus to collect as many dews as possible. They then brought them back to the elektro church and worshiped and guarded it. Not sure why but everyone does the dew differently.

Mountain Dew, oh the legends it sparks, the tales it weaves. In the fog of lore and myth there sits a glimmer of light, a can; green; filled with a wonderful liquid. What properties it holds are still a mystery, what legends be fact none may attest to and yet, we still revere the Dew. Some will worship the Dew, some will covet and listen to the Dew, and other yet may drink the Dew. But all of us, are driven by the Dew. Also the radio's if you do ever find one, the coordinates that it spews out are the Deer Stands around the map. Never heard the morse code theory sounds like a lame Creepy Pasta if you ask me.

Basically Its a can of soda, gives me headaches though, so I never drink it and in game, I blow them up as they are said to be cursed and I for one and not going to test that theory.

I have returned the dew to it's home. It was a hard battle and as I left I was surrounded by zombies, With one bolt left I fired it into a zombie running at me.

Within seconds a group of 3 GAZ's appeared and killed them and left.

This made me actually LOL, :lol: .. ... I drink them first if I have them, I wish you could combine them with syringes though and tap a vein... cuz u know, thats the way to go... or maybe have a "snort Dew" option on the scroll wheel :|
