Veradun 0 Posted March 1, 2013 The store is down at the moment, but when I viewed it, there was a version of Arma 2 which I believe contained all of the DLC's for a bit more money. I think it also said for the best DayZ experience get that version over Combined Ops. Would just like to know the difference between the two when Day Z is concerned, as I'm buying it for sure, can't wait for standalone! Of course I'll play Arma as well as I like the demo I just played, but my main reason is DayZ :D
legacyofblake 8 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) I think the other dlcs are quality improved like british armed forces and private military company. I just got Arma 2 and op arrowhead enough for dayzSummary: they just improve quality in dayz Edited March 1, 2013 by legacyofblake
Veradun 0 Posted March 1, 2013 Ah, so just graphical quality then? I like my visuals so it may be worth the little extra for that if that's the case :)

Veradun 0 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) Is the steam store only down in the UK/Europe right now? I can access the US version but I'm getting a 404 Not Found without a proxy?Bah, it's working again now :D Edited March 1, 2013 by Veradun
SmashT 10907 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) ArmA 3 alpha comes out on the 5th, there is a supporter addition that also includes ArmA X and includes ArmA II and all the DLC's. If you were planning on buying ArmA III anyway then that is a decent offer.http://www.arma3.com/buyOtherwise, you only need ArmA II and Operation Arrowhead for DayZ (together called Combined Operations)British Armed Forces gives you a higher quality ghille suit and camo clothing (It's worth noting that the better looking ghillie suit also makes it slightly more difficult for you to see players wearing it)Private Military Company gives you higher quality survivor and hero skin Edited March 1, 2013 by smasht_AU

I suppose that's because of all the extra artwork and stuff. Might be better to see If I like Arma II before buying the third, as it is a £35 difference :)
CosmicBadger 0 Posted March 1, 2013 Yeah i was in the same boat this morning, in the end i just went for Combined Ops. I'm sure that will do me :)
Veradun 0 Posted March 1, 2013 Yeah i was in the same boat this morning, in the end i just went for Combined Ops. I'm sure that will do me :)Yeah, I ended up going for Arma II Complete, was £8 more for the extra DLC's and those better skin textures for DayZ so it's alright for £25. If I like Arma II I'll sure buy III :D
Veradun 0 Posted March 1, 2013 Quick question, I opted to download the mod through Steam but when I see the server list I can't join any, saying at the bottom in red I require a higher version of something. And which are the best servers to join, they all seem to have different difficulties and custom settings :)

If I like Arma II I'll sure buy III :DDon't fprget that for Arma 3 they've been addressing many of the issues that the older ones had. It's worth checking out some vids even if you don't find Arma 2 to your taste because it's moved on a LOT.
