My oldest char on main hive was 195 days that was back when my clan took over a hive server ;D we had everything and i died cuz i got ran over by an atv when i was walking from elektro to stary ;/ never saw it coming {had no sound back then)

so, my main hive char is this old, I know people say dont get attached but I regularly play on privite hive servers to free myself from the fear of loosing this character whilst playing on the main hive :P I play with a wildly different play style when using this char, much more stealth and self preservation when compared to sprinting across open tundra and through towns with wanton abandon on a privite hive!

Nearly lost my 138 days old character because of a hacker. Me and my squad was waiting for one of our freinds to reach us and suddenly a Error popped up and i have seen the message before and everytime a hacker have been in the lobby i asked if we should leave but they said there were no need to leave so we kept waiting and suddenly a guy with DMR and ghillie spawned in behind my 2 freinds and killed em i was on the hackers left side and started firing my M14 AIM almost emptied a mag into hies head nothing happend the guy had god mode...

I started talking to the guy in direct asking him not to kill me and he just ran off i couldn't abort at the moment. Well atleast i still have my character

It is amazing that people can claim to have 200+ days old char's. If you play this Mod for at least a couple hours a day, on the public hive, then you "WILL" die long before that unless you simply, "Don't play". Hackers, glitch, stupidity, DC's with bad consequence. I'm not saying people are full of shit, but then again, leaving your char alive just to log in every 3-4 days and check gear, then log back out, is not playing DayZ.

I disagree. I play for a couple of hours a day most days, and dying is an exceptionally rare thing for me, and it's usually because I've decided to take a risk of some description. A cautious player who's going out of their way to avoid any kind of contact with others, could easily rack this up - once you've got a good weapon and backpack, you can pretty much survive indefinitely without ever having to go near a danger hotspot like Stary Sobor, Elektro or the NWAF.

As for hackers, perhaps I've been lucky, but they don't seem as prevalent on EU servers - as long as you're careful where you play and you keep your eyes open for signs that there might be one around, there's certainly no guarantee you'll be killed by one.

My oldest character on public is about 30 days old, I play around on a private-hive Namalsk with a custom-loadout for shits and giggles, so my lifespan is rather short on that server.
