Idea for starting equipment. Classes.

Since most of you seemingly can't read past the title, I'll spell this out.

YOU DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE YOUR KIT. IT IS RANDOMLY ASSIGNED AT SPAWN.

How about some random (yet prebuilt) kits?

The taxi driver : Spawn with map, compass, roadflares

The woodsman : Hatchet, compass, canteen

The policeman : Mak with 2 clips

The butcher : Skinning knife and 2 slabs of raw meat.

You could go nuts coming up with a good 20 or 30 starting setups.

Of course, there needs to be a mechanic in place to stop people from respawning themselves over and over and over to get the "best" kits, so make a 15 minute timer from the time you spawn. If you die within that 15 minutes you respawn knocked out for whatever the remainder of the timer was.

That's kind of the point. . .you never know what you're going to get. I mean, if the aim is to totally fuck you over starting out you may as well mix up the implements that the game is screwing you over with.

A skinning knife and 2 raw meat is just as good as what we start out with now.

I like it!... and make the bandit spawn as the woodsman every time! That'll teach him to be a little nicer in his previous life! ;)

This is an interesting concept, I'd never realy thought about having varried starting gear.

It could help mix up gameplay a bit, however there are sveral problems:

- Most people would probably pick the gun class (There shouldn't be a gun class, if melee is added, perhaps varied melee weapons)

- If people dont get to pick what they start with they will continualy respawn to get what they want

- This would provide incentive to kill new players for their different loot

Worth putting a bit more thought into and not just having people post "NO WTF ARE YOU THINKING"

Lol everyone is just shooting off the generic response to the word class rather than reading the post. Personally I think it would be kind of interesting to see randomized load-outs and spawn locations. Doesn't quite fit into the theme of showing up on the coast but I think would still spice things up even further.

In the meantime, it may be fun to come up with more "classes". You get up to 3 items to start, they can be any three items from the world but they kind of have to fit together.

The mechanic spawns with engine parts, a toolbox, flashlight.


Doctor : Bloodbag, Epi-Pen, Antibiotics
