Night time: seriously! what the point?

ok so im in a darkened room, with no lighting to speak of! im guessing the game has loaded textures, dont quote me on it as i cant see any!

so there is no fancy lighting, no textures that i cant see, and the game still runs at 10fps!!

i might as well be playing this game at 800x600 with everything set to low! whats the point in having a good graphics card when

you cant see anything and anything that i can see look like crap!

this game used to fun, LOADS of fun!!! now its an ordeal just to get it working never mind have fun!

Rocket has already stated that the current level of nighttime is from the ArmA2 beta patch release.

The next hotfix will add a slight tint/tone to the nighttime to bring it back to a reasonable level.

what player prior to 1.7.1.1 had flashlights on them? anyway isn't it realistic to have light bleed into forests and farm houses? Sure its no where as easy to play as before but whats the point of having pitch black night that is in no way realistic. How many have been in a "forest" with no artificial light and still could see better than we can in dayz?

oh snap...though it isn't an issue really. its a can you deal with this game or not situation.

There's a hotfix for this by the way. go to a different server. As far the fps, that's usually server related, too many things spawned. find good servers that reset often or aren't running on the bare minimum and you should be good.

The nights are fucked up - 3/4 of the screen is pitch black the rest is some grey sky. No point in going anywhere as any zombie would easily eat you without you having any chance. Throw a flare? Yeah sure why not tell the whole server your location, drop your weapon and wait to be "rescued"... some people are just morons.

Oh and edit says...

If you wanna keep it realistic - eyes get used to darkness after a while. Implement that shit before turning off the lights completely and call it "realistic".

That is not the point. Playing at night was fun before it got bugged - and I know there is a handfull of people here that are talented at screaming really really loud that this mistake is actually good. Still they are just a few capable of screaming the loudest and afraid people could find out that those guys are in fact the minority. So missing half the game because of a bug? nope - rather fix the bug and let people enjoy all the game.
