Newbie looking for kind help

Hello survivors,

I am new (Hi!) and currently downloading Arma II CO via Steam. I tried to use the time needed for downloading to study some mod install guides, but all the different guides I found are really confusing me right now and I actually don't want to mess the game up because I followed some outdated guide or something. :-/

Therefore I'd appreciate anyone helping me out. I think I will manage to dl the mod files and put them in the right directory, but please explain to me what to do afterwards, as I don't know which beta patches, parameters and so on will be needed after the latest updates. I'll be running the game on 32-bit Win7, if that helps you to help me.

Hi

Make sure to have Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA installed. If you're doing it via stam then run each one of them and then exit (so that the activation codes are used; you don't have to play it if you don't want to but it sure does help to at leats finish the boot camp as the controls are a bit unusual for a fps game). Download Dayz via Six Updater suite et voila! I also got the most recent beta patch for Arma 2 OA (after installing dayz but it doesn't matter I suppose), works fine so far. Run Dayz via Six Launcher and have tons of frustrating fun!
