Reading the topic I thought this means having a save for yourself to store your gear in... I dislike that.

But the "random gun safes" as lootspots idea I really like!

I think there have been safes suggested before, but them being gunsafes not.

Considering that money-safes usually are a lot thicker than gun-safes (metal-box with a lock usually is enough) it would also take away the problem, that no one actually would know how to open a real safe once the apocalypse started. Those things were made that they don't open.

Breaking open a metal box that was locked should be a lot easier.
