"Data file too short" Error

Hello,

I just bought the game Arma II and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead.

I installed the game, and i launched it once, with both of the games...

I bought the game to play the DayZ mod, which looks amazing.

My problem is, i really don't know how to install the game, and when i downloaded the files and used the patch for the game, this error came up during startup:

Data file too short 'c\program files...\...\..\arma2 operation arrowhead\EXPANSION\addons\air.pdo'. expected 120178246 B, got 910955040 B.

I read alot other threads with exact same issue, but the answers did not help me..

I got the Steam version of the game.

I am willing too pay for someone helping me out.

Exit steam then run as administrator then Right click ARMA 2 : OA > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game cache

See if that works, it may take a while

But it does not solve the problem, i have allready tryed that.

When the verifying is done, it simple says, that one file could not be verifyed, and it will be downloaded automatically..

But if i verify one more time, it comes with the same message

I did delete the file, now it saids buildings.pbo instead >.<

I can't really remember if i launched the combined ops, but i launched both ArmA: II and ArmA: OA, and i even got the @DayZ to be showed in the right corner in the game.

they helped me install and stuff like they did for themselves which worked for them

but the error in this post is exactly my problem2

Hello!

Good that i'm not the only one having troubles with the game/mod.

However i found this thread, and i will personally take a look at it.

Just in case you could use some help from that :)

I will hopefully post inhere, when my problem is solved, becouse i know

I'm currently redownloading the whole game, so i really hope this works!

I will keep you updated in my actions to get the mod to work.

Reinstalling did not help me further in getting the mod working.

Sorry mate I have no idea what would be causing that then, maybe try get your hands on the retail version, you just need the disks/files and you can use the cd keys you got from steam to activate it.

I got the error away, and i'm now able to see other servers

but i can only join some very few, and when i join it says "outdated version"

Can anyone help?

Hey guys I had the same problem.

To fix I went to the file path Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\AddOns and then deleted all the files within the AddOns folder.

Then I restarted the game and it worked :)
