Death_Dealer 3155 Posted February 24, 2013 I just thought of this idea a few moments ago - The ability to write on maps. Perhaps maps could come with a pencil or a marker. Writing on maps would be a great addition as most map features that are currently in the mod will most likely be removed. You could draw out a plan, say for attacking a base or a city, write down notes, or just draw for the shits and giggles. Positronica 30 Posted February 24, 2013 There should also be an option for group viewing of a map. For example, if I have a map in my inventory, I could right click on my map and one of the options would be "show map to others". Once I activate that option, other players near me could mousewheel over me and select "view map". They would then be able to look at my map with me, and I'd have a virtual pencil and pointer that I could use to communicate a plan or route to them with. PracticalTactical 164 Posted February 24, 2013 Great idea! I remember Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass had the ability to draw on your map (and also solve puzzles with it). It was a great feature because certain quests did not hold your hand and guide you with an arrow or an obvious sign. Instead they would maybe tell you coordinates but more than likely just tell you to "find a large tree in the northwest of the map close to a small flower garden" or something. I could see the addition of new items such as charcoal, pens or pencils into the game that can be used with the map to write stuff on it. Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted February 24, 2013 Yeah, can't believe this won't be one of the very first things they put in the SA version, but if somehow they've not done it already, I'm very much in favour of this.Also a BIG fan of Pokey's idea of being able to pick up markers from the maps of your victims.
