Hi

I am new the to forum. I have been playing games on my PC since 2006 when I brought it.

Spec;

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 2.2ghz

1.75GB pc 3200 DD2 Ram

2x 150gb 7200rpm HDD

XFX Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS 512mb ( recently upgraded from stock, some Geforce 256mb card )

This at the time of purchase was the best "GAMING PC", Pc World had. It cost me the best part of a grand.

I have been playing BF2, Call of duty 1 , 2 , then moved on to PRM and then over the years just stopped playing for what ever reason.

I'm looking to build a new rig and want it to meet the standard to play Dayz. I could use the Hard drives and case from my computer I already have. My budget would be around £300. I have been looking at a lot of cpu's over the last week or two, and it seems to get the game running half decent I would need an i3 or and i5 and around 8GB of ram with a decent gpu. I have also looked at second hand bundles on ebay that people are selling, but i am slightly concerned as their would be no warranty. I am currently off work at the moment due to lacerating some foot tendons so £300 really is my budget..

Cheers.

inb4 check the can i run it thread

to actually answer your question you need to be looking upwards of 400/500 for a decent i5 rig. i wouldnt recommend an i3 if you want to play DayZ.

My advice would be go for a second hand build if you can get an i5 for the right price, dont worry too much about the warrenty, you definately will not be able to afford even an i3 which is new for 300. Alternatively look for second hand parts and build your own this can save you a fortune, just make sure you can return the items if they dont work.

best build for you would be

Phenom II black edition @ 3.4ghz quad core

Any compatable MBO

7770 or 7750 GPU

8gb of some decent speed RAM 1333 and above

And a decent PSU from a reputable brand

MB + CPU + ram + GPU but you will need W7 or superior to take advantage of the 8 g of ram, imho.

When you have decided please post in the Can I Run It Stickied Topic for more opinions.

Read the Stickies, use the Search Function.
