Requesting a guide to looting

Recommended Posts

My Suggestion, stay near the outskirts of towns and Deer-stands until you have supplied yourself enough for an assault inside town. That would normally work but now that you no longer spawn with food, you'd have to be quick about it at least.

While the option of being in a team, of at least two, is still a better idea for covering more ground; but if you want the lone-wolf approach avoiding towns at the beginning is the best approach and just hope for the best at barns and deerstands.

Simple fact, Hope for the best but expect the worst.

I find the best way is to use stealth.

If your agroing zeds your doing it wrong. :P

I understand that some people are finding it hard to do this atm with recent changes but im managing it just fine.

Stay low and slow, use ears and eyes and take the safest route.

Just put more room between u and the zombies and be patient. Watch where the zombies are heading and plan accordingly.

Sneaking:

-Not an option. Zombies aggro way too far away. Even if you manage to evade one zombie' date=' 1 or more will interrupt your sneaking by popping up from somewhere else. I usually crouch and go slowly but this doesnt help at all.[/quote']

Had that happen to me a few minutes ago up at the NW Airfield, survived for the longest I had in DayZ (Few hours over a couple of days or so). Was doing a fine job sneaking around buildings etc, got cornered between a small shed full of zombies that had a door that wouldn't close and a couple of zombies started to wonder towards the entrance that I came from. I waited it out and managed to get by, hugged the wall checking my 6 etc.

Came to the end of the wall, peeked around, all clear so I started moving up but a zombie caught a glimpse of me from about 70m away where I looked, behind a tree. Took a shot at him... ended up costing me my life. The zombies in the shed got attracted to the shots and came running around the wall, was down to my last couple of magazines of my 1911 (The annoying last couple that only have a couple of rounds in them). Tried to reload a couple of times, but they broke my legs, I pass out and watch them feast on my torso, I came through again though, tried reloading again but no dice.

Problem for me now is that it will be my first time starting with the new starting equipment.
