Steam difficulties

I sold my laptop to a friend (after formatting) and he has downloaded steam and using his account,tried to download his version of arma2 and OA.However when we try to play,It still loads up with my proflie in game?It seems to me that steam thinks its my version of the game,even though he bought and downloaded it on his profile.Any help?

Just checked CD keys and they are different.

If you formatted it and he is using his copy of steam then I don't see how that is possible :/ Regardless running his copy as admin should update it in the registry.

How do i run as admin??When he opened dayz through dayz commander,it was my gamer names under profile also

On 2nd thought i may have not formatted it.

You right click on the game or steam and choose run as admin.

The profile name by default uses the name of the PC, if you are using separate game copies ( which you can check by typing #beclient GUID in chat) then the profile name really doesn't matter, just create a new one from the main menu. Profile names aren't tied to your CD key so any number of players can share the same name.

I knew about the profile thing.It was just that when he opened player profile it was my dayz name SBF SeaMan,Which is not the pc name

Well if you didn't format then it would still be using your profile (regardless of the CD Key)

He can just edit the name. All the profile contains is key bindings/name/graphical settings etc anyway.

Yeah its just when i try to join a server he is on it wont let me join and vice versa.the problem isnt the name,its the fact we cant join the same server.

Also he typed #beclient GUID and it said My guid:

Then nothing?This is after he opened steam as admin.
