Random sudden frame drop every split second.

Recommended Posts

I play battlefield 3 just fine at 45 fps, but when I try to play Arma II & OA with the DayZ mod I lag like crazy, it sits at 60 fps then goes to 54, 40, 32, back to 60, it all happens every 0.3 seconds and never stops, sometimes when I enter towns I go down to 7-13 fps, I don't know whats wrong with it, I set my visibility all the way down to 500, and all the way up, it doesn't change a thing, I'll post my dxdiag settings here, I also tried the DayZ tweaks on http://www.dayzpvp.c...d-tweaks-guide/ and it didn't help. If anyone has a solution please post all of them here, I really can't figure this out.

If you have a laptop (which I doubt you do), it could be overheating. That's what was causing my random lag. Give the air vent some space to circulate air, and safely remove any dust build up.

Then again, desktops can overheat as well.

What Mr.Wonka said, overheating can be major cause for lag.

Yes yes,

i have this too, it's like it stuttering....

You frames drop down in a little freeze...

In town i het 22 to 27 FPS (Medium towns)

Not to speak about areas like Chernarus...

Here are my specs:

Intel i7 920

MSI X58 Platinum

6GB Kingston @ 1600MHz DDR3

MSI R6970 Lightning

Cooler Master GX 550W

Samsung Spinpoint F3 1000GB

Case: Thermaltake V9 BlacX Edition

I did everything, from underclocking my CPU and GPU to startup parameters...

One does not simply run dayz at decent FPS.

It simply does not work.....

I've done the same, don't know whats wrong, I'm gonna upgrade to a Nvidia GTX 680 and if that doesn't work I'm just gonna give up on DayZ until there is a fix/lag stops with the standalone.
