Beta Builds

Recommended Posts

So.. I think during my time playing dayz I must have installed at least 50+ different beta builds for Arma 2 yet there is no discernible improvement in the game fps wise in Citys, that I can tell, between now & when I fist started playing way back last May. They strike me as being as useless as tits on a bull, what purpose are they serving?

Majority of them are irrelevant to DayZ, you would have to read the patch notes if you want to know what each has changed.

Don't forget DayZ is still just a free mod for Arma. There are many other mods as well as the game itself. Many of these Beta patches aren't for DayZ at all although a few have been made with DayZ in mind.

Yeah, I get that, the point i'm making is everyone always bangs on about how poorly optimised the arma 2 engine is (pretty much from it has been released), yet there is the mass of beta builds released and as far as I can see they ain't done jack to optimise the engine in any meaningful way - , ie an improvement of framerates in citys..

You should read more about how Arma 2 and DayZ mod/zombies/loot spawns work. Then you will understand the FPS drops
