New player lots of lag

I have just downloaded DayZ and am eager to start playing. I downloaded the “play withSIX” program and downloaded DayZ from there I started up a game but I have extreamly high lag and my ping is normal over 700.

I think this is a problem with the download not my internet as I am able to play many other games with very little lag and ping

(P.S I have both ARMA2 and operation arrow head)

Please help I can’t wait to play this game.

look for servers with low ping, personally i think dayz commander is better.

i have looked for low ping servers but around 700 was as low as i could get

Nat that i'm the most proficient man around when it comes to this stuff but i will give you what help i can

Did you follow the dayz installation guide?http://www.dayzwiki....to_install_DayZ

If you did not well, reinstall arma(both)(and dayz) while following this guide. And well dayz commander is the best.

PS: and just to check, did you use the install update in dayz commander?

In Commander, look on the left side. There is a slider that controls what range of pings your server masterlist will query.

Make sure that thing is set so you are looking for servers between 0 and about 150 ping.

If that is OK, then let's look at your local machine. As an example, before I upgraded to an i5, I used to have to shut off everything else while playing. If it sat in the system tray and wasn't steam or my audio controls, it would get shut off. Then I would run the game with everything set to low. If there was a little lag on the server side, it would be compounded on my end, and I would run in windowed mode.

But that is getting ahead of things, because I don't know anything about your rig.
