Magic8Ball (DayZ) 0 Posted May 9, 2012 Day Z,Let your community help you grow. We are more than willing to help you add more servers. You are not giving us the information we need to setup DayZ servers on our dedicated boxes. This is hurting the DayZ community and stunting its growth. Please give us the tools and documentation we need to provide this amazing mod with more servers.Sincerely,Magic8Ball
Antipop (DayZ) 37 Posted May 9, 2012 Private Messaged you back.If other hosts are in similar situations to Magic8Ball, please just PM me if you are getting no response from dayzdevteam@gmail.com (Remember that's the official email, give it a day or so) and I'll see what I can do.I'm not an official DayZ dev, but I do have Rocket on other forms of communication and will try and get in touch with him for you, I can also help you get everything sorted prior to a tick of approval from Rocket. rocket 16567 Posted May 9, 2012 ^^ Antipop is right. the dayzdevteam@gmail.com email is completely overloaded. I've given Antipop access so he can help me and the others try and process through the backlog.

Win 2008 RC2 3 GB ram 3 cores 3TB bandwidth thanks
rocket 16567 Posted May 9, 2012 You're a bit RAM limited. If its only running ArmA2 on it, it might be okay with a small server. My NZ box has 4GB RAM and it tends to run out of juice a bit if it is anything more than 25 players.
Antipop (DayZ) 37 Posted May 9, 2012 G'day Borstal. That's a fairly solid box there mate. You can potentially host a 40 player server, or 2x 30. Bandwidth is your limitation, as is the only 3 core CPU. As Rocket said, Ram might be chewed fairly quickly. However, in my experience Ram isn't of big importance with ArmA servers... Freeborne (DayZ) 7 Posted May 9, 2012 What CPU has 3 cores? If you have 3 cores, I'd say you don't have a Dedicated Server, but a VPS.Are they also 3 full cores, or 3 "units"? Sometimes host providers will sell a unit of CPU processing power, which is just 1GHz, or a ratio of the full CPU.Either way, you did not include information on the type of CPU. There is a HUGE difference in performance from an old CPU in a hosts "Specials" section, and the latest and greatest server CPUs.How is data counted? In? Out? Both? Just the largest usage of the two?You know what's RIDICULOUS? Complaining that DayZ don't give out enough information (which I completely agree with) and then not doing the same thing yourself.rocket and crew, save everyone some time and effort, and make all this information clearly visible and easily accessed. Why waste time responding to people who post the bare minimum info and then require to be asked again and again for more information, because they can't Google, or search the forums. Setup some auto-responders on gmail that reply back with a form asking all these specifics. Have more than one inbox for different queries, etc. I know the success hit you by surprise, but some more Organization couldn't hurt.
Difecti 11 Posted May 10, 2012 They won't release this as it will require releasing the specific exe's that keep the servers connected to the database. It'd prove to much of a security risk to the database. I cant seen the devs releasing those to be honest, hence the reason it requires DayZ devs setup. DELTA2ALPHA 1 Posted May 10, 2012 We have beefy equipment ready to roll for another Australian server with ample bandwidth. I would have to contact our server admin to let you know the actual specs, but I do know it should be more then what we need to run at least one server. I just need someone to get back to me on what software we need to set this up.
Antipop (DayZ) 37 Posted May 10, 2012 Delta, please PM me and I can set it up for you.@Freeborne and co, please read this thread in order to see what is required for a DayZ server.Regards,Matt

Server is already setup, and yes its a VDS but it is dedicated cores.
