I think it should made so that admins cant change the time zone so players are forced to MAN up and play at nighttime! It really winds me up when people play a survival game but as soon as the sun goes down they all moan and moan, those people would never survive in a real survival situation!

Hah, first time a booted up DayZ was in the middle of the night. Not knowing wtf is going on and how to play the game just stumbled about... But it was scary as hell.

The lack of decent real time servers is a problem. Poor server setups have been one of the biggest contributors of DayZ going downhill. It's a controversial thing to say but server setups can breed bad and lazy players.

Then you have servers with Crosshair, third person and giving players too much starting gear. It just breeds players who only care about killing other people. It's not even banditry any more (robbing players for food/water etc), players are just killing others for sport nowadays because Survival isn't an issue.

I think private hives have access to mess with the time. I've see all day servers before.

Man, coming into the game for the first time and it's night?! Lol, that must have been scary as shit. Especially with the music. I turned the music off a long time ago, but every now n then I turn it back on just to freak me out some more. I love night time and when it rains at night too!

Yeah the new music is even scarier, :P I installed an update and had the music disabled before but the update turned it back on and it scared the crap outa me lol

That and the thermals... Used to be a huge problem with duping tents. Wonder how it is now.

I don't play on official servers cause of hackers, but on most private servers thermals are banned.

Don't get me wrong, I like night time, I like the idea of night time.

It is just Night Vision Goggles. They are so overpowered that you either have them during night or you are dead meat for people that have NVG's.

To make it fair everyone must have NVG's at nigh or NVG's have to be banned completly so everybody will have to use chemlights/flashlights equally.

You can take out a guy with as50 with Makarow or hatchet but at night guy with NVG's will kill you 99 times out of 100 if you do not have NVG's yourself.

NVG's are just so overpowered.

I also play a lot of 2017. With 2017 all military weapons and gear are non-existent. This setup makes gun fights ACTUALLY happen and so much more skill based. You rarely get sniped by some douche (like me!!) sitting 900m out. In 2017 you have a lot of Lee Enfield or Winchester battles. It's more fun in my opinion.

Me thinks you're going a bit OTT on how much of an advantage people have with them, for one thing the incredible low drop rate, maybe 0.11/0.19%?? from barracks and the now even more rare crashed heli sites, so be suprising if there's ever more than 10% of the players on a server with them. (there's a few more than normal on the server you and I both play on at the moment?!, but that's due to the tent bug!)

Also on clear cloudless nights NVG's can actully be a hinderance because it's too bright and makes seeing anywhere other than in woods quite difficult and not using them is probably better!

Then there's also gamma/brightness..etc etc etc

But you among others keep asking for things to be removed I mean what's next rangefinders?, assualt rifles? /sigh

Unless they modify flashlights to let you move at a pace of more than two MPH while using it and make throwing flares and chem-lights faster, this gets a serious no from me.
