What is a unique player?

Recommended Posts

I've asked this question before and people always give me these drawn out sketchy answers. Can someone give me a quick summed up direct, to the point answer?

Basicly thats just what players are called, It sounds better though. Just think of unique player as player, theres really no difference.

I don't know if this is correct, but I look at it as if it were each person that connects. A person could have different in game names, but they're not unique players. So its each real person to me.

I'd be interested to see a definite answer.

Depending on the context, a unique player is basically a game key assigned to a player. So if the devs said we have 50 unique players it would basically mean they have 50 individual gamers recorded as playing regardless of how many people were using one key (brothers for example).

It's just how many CD Keys have been recorded in the database.
