Short freezes/FPS drops

Here's the problem:

On every server I join (tried like 15 different so far) my game freezes for like 1-2 seconds every 10 seconds. After those freezes, it runs smoothly until the next freeze/FPS drop occurs. I tried every setting, low, medium and high, but it still freezes.

I don't think my specs are the problem, but here they are:

AMD Athlon x2 64 4200+

GeForce 9600GT 512MB

2GB RAM

Any help/suggestions?

I have the same issue, sort of. When I try to move I hitch every second or so like I have a limp. So let's say, in 6 steps it would be: Step, step-hitch-step, step, step-hitch, step. If that makes sense. Sorry if it's confusing but I'm not too sure how else I could describe it.

It isn't a problem with my computer I know that, after installing the newest beta patch I'm having fps issues.

Try disabling your anti-virus before playing, I was having this problem when I first started playing and it turned out to be my ZoneAlarm Security Suite doing something to cause my game to stutter/freeze.
