multiplay in talks with dayz dev

Recommended Posts

So its my understanding that Multiplay are ab "official" host so their servers are very limited in terms of what a server renter can and can't do.

I did here multiplay are talking to the Dayz dev crew about making more maps/control available to their renters.... any truth to this? Or is it all just drivel?

I didn't even know multiplay hosted DayZ servers :/ Not sure why people would care if they start offering more control/options/maps etc to their customers though (ie private hives), pretty much every other host already does this.

I wouldn't be overly enthused by this. I once ran a TF2 server with Multiplay, and their Clanforge system is hideously limited and restrictive. It's a nice idea, it's just very badly executed. Plus I didn't have a great time with their support either. Still, more UK servers isn't a bad thing, I guess.

Had nothing but good service from Multiplay. Clan forge takes a bit to get used to but once you get the hang of it, it's not all bad. This news is alright I think :)

I've got a server with them.... and for $100 a month it's a rip off.... no server control, if your question seems like work for the support staff they just say "I can't help, you'll have to speak to dayz dev team." Heaps of players complaining about no vehicles.... the one thing I do know about multiplay. ... they won't be getting anymore money from me

I believe the devs have learned something from dayz mod: when you force ppl to go for a so and so solution they'll find their own solution. Looking at the servers we're using now, they have born from a hack because initially the devs didn't want us to host our own servers on our own machines with our own rules (and hives), if they do it again it will end the same: after a couple of weens the server code will be "hacked" and hosted in the underground forcing them to change again their politic (it's a waste of time imo).
