Keep Losing My Inventory!

Recommended Posts

So I am new at DAYZ (and old... so I am already challenged!) :)

I figured out quickly that I want to use a private server over a public server so I'm not getting picked up by helicopters surrounded by buses, or spawning on Navy Battleships in the middle of the forest.

I started really feeling good about my progress in the game. Played all day till it was night on the server, collected a lot of good stuff, and logged off when it got dark.

Tried to log on another server, and learned that your inventory/status does not follow you to a different server if you were on a private server. I was OK with that, because I really liked the server I was on.

So I logged onto the private server, just to make sure that my inventory was good, and it was, so I was happy.

Logged onto my game (using the same server) and everything was gone! >:(

How can I stop this from happening?

If I keep losing my inventory, this game will not be worth the time it takes to find everything if I'm just going to lose it all the next day.

Thank you

Private servers aren't handled by the DayZ dev team. This was most likely a one-time glitch on that specific server, but if it persists, contact the server owners.

Also, welcome to the forums. Its nice to see a newbie who's first words aren't "here's tenn hundrd bagzilkon suurgestins" or "Omg HALP HALP HALP!!!1".

Welcome :)

You'll find that some private servers have a frustrating tendency to roll-back their server regularly. This means you could logon one day, accumulate much, and logoff in a forest, logon the next day and appear where you started from.

Not all private servers are like this, most are well managed, and sometimes servers do this due to hackers, so it isn't always incompetence.

I'd suggest you browse through the server section on the forums to find a private hive that is better managed, gl & hf.

LOL... HELP! was coming next...

Thanks! I guess last question is how do I know how to contact the server owner? I see the long name but nothing that looks like contact info.... well I'm trying on a different server for now to see how it goes.

Wish me luck! and thanks for the quick response!

Any recommendations? Based on your experience so far?

Thanks!

Don't get attached to your gear. Even if it's not fairplay !

TBH I tend to hop around quite a bit, I like having a few different characters with different gear on different servers, I also change my play style from heroic to bandit depending. I think if you're wanting a consistent server and don't wish to change often, if at all then try "Balota Buddies", I believe it is run by some of the moderators right here on the forums, infact the poster above me has a link in his signature ;).

Well thank you for the response to my thread. Maybe I think to linearly, but I just can't justify all the time spent acquiring my gear/capability just to lose it to no fault of my own. I can fully understand losing it if I die, that's my fault. But to lose all my gear because I have to go to work, or to bed, is just silly and would make this game no longer worth my time (which I don't have a lot of).

Thanks!

I've got a recommendation: 173.193.202.109:3323

Enter that IP in DayZ commander favorites.
