Players slower then normal....

Recommended Posts

I will say I am new to the PC gaming scene besides the original titles like Diablo and StarCraft I didn't play much after my commador 64 in te way of games until last year and am just now getting into fps games (until now or played Xbox games have over 90 titles and didn't see much use in jumping to PC until friends migrated)

So I started playing PC games like battlefield, Counter Strike, Firefall, Hawken, LoL and so on until I bought arma and DayZ.

Something I've notice in the last while is how slow the reaction time of PC Players are in combat I'm not putting them down I'm just wondering if anyone else notices, my first ever spawn in DayZ and arma for the matter I come face to face with a legitimate bandit trying to kill me for my gear, I was in the gear screen learning the controls and after he fired his first shot I had time to exit gear screen equip pistol and dome him. If this was BF3 for Xbox idda been dead long before having that kind of time, since then the Only deaths I've had are from alt tabs and fall damage... What gives.

Maybe they have crappy computers... sometimes it seems like my mouse is attached to my cursor with a rubber band. Last night I was in a convoy and despite the fact we had the same vehicles, the other guy ended up 1000m ahead of me because my frames were pretty low.

Gah.

Its not just that they have bad PCs, but bad connection. Cross ocean connections tend to be rather iffy.

doesn't help some people (or groups of people) Can not shoot. I had a trio of bandits start unloading on me, who was solo, with a Winchester, a DRM, and another weapon. I outran them as well as Zigged and Zagged like mad watching their bullets fly far to the sides around me.

Well, there are a couple of big differences:

- Not everyone has the same system specifications. This means that somebody with a GTX 680 and an i7 in their rig is obviously going to have a better visual advantage than someone with a Intel Core 2 Quad and a 8800GTX, or at least not without tweaking some settings.

- A lot of people are new to ArmA, and they have not yet learned to handle the Stamina system yet; here they are trying to aim their gun with it going all over the place, and they are not used to it. I personally made myself go through a week or two of trying to balance it. I.e. some people sprint 2km, run up to someone in third person while laying prone and tries to shoot them. It don't work.

- I can imagine that connection can be a big issue in ArmA as well. I know a couple players who come from Africa and have trouble trying to find servers with decent ping for them. If you are playing on a server in the US and you live in California, then obviously your ping is going to be stronger than someone in the UK.
