Max Planck 7174 Posted February 9, 2013 We all know it works, this is old news. The problem is that you can't use your fancy scopes no more.
sobieski12 835 Posted February 9, 2013 We all know it works, this is old news. The problem is that you can't use your fancy scopes no more.I didn't know...* Would be nice if there was a sticky about this.Remember an old thread poll talking about 1st person versus 3rd person.* That a hundred plus votes didn't like the 1st person FoV, thus they prefer 3rd person.- This would be nice to know.Fancy scopes? Max Planck 7174 Posted February 9, 2013 I didn't know...* Would be nice if there was a sticky about this.Try this in Google: 'dayz change fov'.I Fancy scopes?Yup, the sniper scopes won't be on target anymore if you change your fov.

Max Planck 7174 Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) is there any way to increase ur view distance? Always wanted to get on a top and scout the landscape...but as its now u wont see very far. It's a server setting, keeps people on an equal footing regardless of hardware.Actually, mine is working fine.* Testing right now, with a M40A3.- I am hitting my target dead on, at 600m.It's just the 50cals and the dmr/m24 I think. sobieski12 835 Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) It's just the 50cals and the dmr/m24 I think.Just tested the 107.* Target 600m , adjusted the zeroing at 600.- It's hitting the target dead on. Edited February 9, 2013 by Sobieski12

sobieski12 835 Posted February 10, 2013 Just before this thread is buried into the eternity of the unknown. For those interested in the FoV change* Good News : You will be able to see more things around you, and the sniper scopes work fine.* Bad News : Is due, to the fact you can see more, more objects on your screen are loading, thus you have a massive FPS drop.If your system is already struggling with this game.* Do not apply this FoV change. Also before you start changing the config file.* Save your old data on a separate notepad or word document. Morotstomten 34 Posted February 10, 2013 it doesent screw up the aim with the scopes, the center of the scope is always the center of the scope, but it screws up the mil dots so if youre fond of the dmr youre gonna have to learn to use it properly again with custom fov
Sutinen 635 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Knew it.. A long time ago. The Standalone will be getting a FOV setting too.By the way, the scopes do hit targets where they're supposed to. Used a CZ 550 and shot one guy in the head from 200 meters, and shot another guy that you could barely see, he was lying down on a rooftop. Thus it screws with the as50/m107 and dmr.Unless you have rangefinders.
