direct communication aggro

Recommended Posts

The debate for zombie difficulty rages in other threads and I do like the new challenge of this patch.

However, one idea I liked at first that I have quickly grown to hate is direct chat ringing the zombie dinner bell like an enfield.

If I come across some players in a city, it seems like I have no incentive to call out. If I don't wanna bandit or engage a zombie horde, I just have to lay there quietly and hope the other person never sees me.

Anyone else agree?

Seems like a terrible idea, already enough people in groups using TS/Ventrillo/whatever that have you at an unfair advantage as is, no need to penalize those of us who use direct communication even more.

I agree... direct chat shouldn't affect zombie's... unless some sort of whisper/talk/shout option is created. If we can't control how loud we talk in direct chat, it should just be left alone.

If you are calling out to another player who is 20m away why wouldn't zombies hear as well?

However if you are talking about a discussion between 2 players who are side by side then i agree that zombies shouldn't be alerted from 50m away.
