Bottlerocket 205 Posted February 7, 2013 Even the simplest games can turn into an adventure - If I spawn in the SW, I'll sometimes make it a challenge to go to the NE airfield (the small one, not the NW), stopping at Berezino on the way.Usually takes a couple of days playtime, and something always happenes - a firefight, a random encounter, a zombie battle. Once I get there I'll loot for a bit and hang around to see if anything happens- then head back to Berezino. It never gets old.I also once rolpeplayed the last emergency worker in the world, still waiting for refugees coming up the coast - I hung around west of Cherno at the beach, handing out stuff to new spawns.I made a thread about it - every single encounter was different.Dayz is what you make of it. vonlinchen 26 Posted February 7, 2013 I think the key is not to die..Be smart when interacting with other players. Also imo gear is not the purpose of the game and you shouldn't grow too attached to it. The purpose is to interactive with other players or muck about with your friends.People attach too much long term value to loot, in reality you can have just as much fun on the coast with a Winchester as you can up north with a silenced M4

Sutinen 635 Posted February 7, 2013 Sounds like you need to take a break and return in a few days. Then it's gonna be fun again.

jamieledgeway@hotmail.co.uk 216 Posted March 13, 2013 at the minute i'm living in a black log cabin up north, close to my house - until today I had 2 well stocked tents but i've lost them..currently I was on the hunt for a cz50 so I could go rabbit hunting - ever been? it's great fun, so difficult..now i'm back looking for some new tents, lost all my medical supplies so gonna have to repleisih then, lost all my weapons and ammo gonna have to replace them - haven't bothered with a vehicle for weeks, find them all the time and just vandalise the wheels rather than stealing them, usually take and dump all the fuel cans too that are stashed in them, let the oners work!.. longest i've stayed alive has been like 40 days, usually have something to do when I get a chance play, I don't look for trouble but it usually finds me, current server i'm playing on was gonna invite people round to my house for beers on friday night for a chat about the new standalone but they have now disabled comms again on the server.. DayZ still absolutely rocks..we have to do this Cal!
svisketyggeren 662 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) .......but i find myself, time after time, spawning, collecting good gear, deer stands, supermarkets, bump into another survivor, die.Repeat process.Anyone else feel a bit dissapointed?No...cos I dont die that often. My best advice to stay alive is to learn from ur mistakes....Last time I died was from driving past one zombie on a bike...I had all the gear I needed, NVG, Ghille, M107, range finder and a nice motorbike in mint condition, it was happydayz...and then bam! mike tyson zombie breakes my leg as I drive past him...im dead.Lesson learned....dont drive/run past zombies eventhough u have full health. The time before that I had just sniped a player on top of the school in Vybor, it was night and 4-5 players on the server...he had a ghillie and I didnt...so I thought nice get the loot...then bam! someone shoots me in the head from one of the rooms as I run down the corridor inside the school. Obvioulsy the ghilleguy had a friend.Lesson learned....Dont rush in to get the loot from a player, he might have a friend waiting for u.Playing dayz for about a year u learn alot of lessons...and slowly u increase ur chances of staying alive, but only if u ask urself what mistake(s) u made that got u killed. _Anubis_ (DayZ) 139 Posted March 13, 2013 I must be a lucky guy because I enjoy dayz every time I play it. I die very rarely (mix of skills and Lone Wolf play-style), but I am happy to survive the first 30 minutes of mad dash in Cherno or exploring fully geared NEAF and stalking people running in the open._Anubis_
joinnkakashi@gmail.com 31 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) I got bored of surviving, so I became an actual Bandit. Not one of those fresh spawn killers Edited March 13, 2013 by A_Moss_Herder
