New concept for Server System [DayZ Standalone]

Recommended Posts

Just have two seperate hives or "game modes", one with third person enabled (Toggle via menu), the other with it disabled. You can switch between them as much as you want (with no time penalty) but they are separate characters/hives so nothing will persist between them.

That's the key element of this suggestion - having your character locked to one kind of setting.

About the time penalty.. well it would make server hopping useless for loot farming and combat logging.

That's why I think the radical thing with your character locked to ONE specific server would be the best idea if servers were stable.

But as they are not yet and maybe you want to team up with people you just got to know you should be able to switch servers with a time penalty if you want to.

If you let people switch at any time they will abuse this feature as we can see it right now in the mod.

If there were two or max three server settings, multiple chars could work, while if there were more than that I think we should stick with one character

Well having twenty characters for twenty different settings indeed would be confusing and hard to have an overview of everthing going on.

But if I got Rocket right then this isn't what's going to happen.

I can recall him once saying that you can't please everybody by making many differnet modes of the game.

So I guess they will stick to 2 or 3 types of settings and then different characters for those settings would be a great deal IMHO
