Sercan (DayZ) 4 Posted February 5, 2013 Imagine caravans in Standalone! Would be very cool and pretty handy although the size would make it tough to hide it but I guess that's part of the fun :)
Fitzkrieg 129 Posted February 6, 2013 The npcs in DayZ will be zombies and animals, hate to be the bringer of bad news. However if players were doing caravans that would be something great to see... but that would require them to not want to kill anything that even looks like it could move... Never thought of it like that :) That would be pretty cool but very tricky to organise / safeguard. I meant carvan as in the vehicle. I live in the UK, note sure what they call them overseas.
beastoverlord 574 Posted February 6, 2013 You can already do caravans... Just have your squad grab a few vehicles and follow one-another. When mine was moving bases we had 4 cars all in a line.

(Recreational Vehicle)What everyone else seems to be thinking of, I'd call a procession, convoy or wagon train probably.I'd like to see them, but you wouldn't be able to live in the back when it's in motion, because the collision detection doesn't allow players standing on vehicles (entities) to move with them, unfortunately. It would be badass to sit in the back, with the doors open, firing your LMG at the bandits that thought it was a good idea to chase you. Lt. Toast 125 Posted February 6, 2013 I meant carvan as in the vehicle. I live in the UK, note sure what they call them overseas. In the U.S. we call them RVs, not sure about other countries. It would be sort of interesting though being able to move your camp around.

Could add propane to it and cook stuff in it, etc. would have to be rare though.

Regardless, I looked at the Carvan and thought that would be great fun to drive in the zombie Apocalypse!
