vDarkStar 11 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Before I start this isn't a request to be unbanned, I've already contacted Battleye support and am waiting for a reply ( Although it's been nearly 24 hours ) and before any one decides to chuck around "Lolhaxzor"...No, no, I am not. Your comment will be ignored, so please only post if you are trying to help.I've been playing DayZ for a month now with a Steam Purchased copy of Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, along with several other DLC's. I'd been fine up to a few days ago when I first got a "CD Key in use" message. I quit, checked the local files of Arma 2 and the add-on and got it working again. yesterday I logged onto a server and was greeted with: "Global Ban: e204fb". I tried googling it and nothing came up, I tried verifying my files and still nothing. I tried several servers and it's appears to be across the board. My first concern was being a victim of a hack of some sort, but I haven't downloaded anything outside of DayZ commander and none of the servers that I play on are particularly high-population. I'm not sure what the ban is for because there is literally nothing I could find through google, but I'd appreciate it if anyone has any specifics on it?Cheers for any help. SmashT 10907 Posted February 4, 2013 It isn't a ban code, it's the last (or first I can't remember) 6 digits of your GUID.
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted February 4, 2013 Only BE will have the details of why you were banned.
vDarkStar 11 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) It isn't a ban code, it's the last (or first I can't remember) 6 digits of your GUID.Woops, I clicked the report on your post by accident O_oWhat I meant to do was quote and ask "What would cause this to come up?"Only BE will have the details of why you were banned. So there's no way of telling what kind of ban was given out by the ID code or the GUID code? In my google fu a few people have listed specific codes as bans for specific things, I was just concerned because this ID had no information on google.I also noticed in the stickies on this forum I wasn't meant to ask about global bans here, sorry! Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) It's a global ban for cheating. My guess would be that your CD key has been stolen and sold on to a cheater who has gotten it banned. Contact BattlEye, we can't do anything. Edited February 4, 2013 by mZLY
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted February 4, 2013 (edited) Typically BE will issue bans for running dodgy scripts in-game. It is also possible that your key got stolen and replaced with a banned one. This can happen in several ways but it can't simply be taken from you just by playing DayZ. Some people will try and lure you to download software by clicking links to performance tweaking software, hacks and other tempting things. This software will then swap your key.As with any game key it is your responsibility to keep it safe.Either way, it is highly unlikely that your ban will be lifted. If you need more details or want to pursue that course then only BE can help you. Technically DayZ is a free mod for Arma2 and that is what you have actually been banned from. With that in mind nobody here can help you. Edited February 4, 2013 by Fraggle
SmashT 10907 Posted February 4, 2013 Your GUID is a one-way hash based on your CD Key, it identifies your account. Again, they aren't ban codes. It's telling you your CD Key (with a GUID ending in e204fb) has been globally banned by BattlEye for cheating.
vDarkStar 11 Posted February 4, 2013 It's a global ban for cheating.I see, well...I'm not sure why that's been given then considering I've hardly played ( Steam time clocks in at 100 hours all time... ).Well, thanks for clearing it up, I'm certain I haven't cheated and have no intentions to, so I'll wait and see what reply I get from BE and if needs be I'll purchase a new copy of the game!Cheers for clearing that up! :)
