Former WarZ player starts DayZ (Advices please)

Recommended Posts

That's funny because I went to The WarZ, because of hackers.

...But ultimately DayZ is better in every area regardless of the hackers.

Then you must be playing it wrong ;) There are no hackers in private servers!

What i do at a new spawn is that i make a run for the nearest supermarket,(i i get hit by a sniper well yeah cost me 5 min gametime) and get a better backpack and food/water, and maybe a pistol and a tent. If i am in Cherno or Elektro go to the firestations(and the medical tents in Cherno) And im geared up :) After this the paranoia starts.... Sitting in a bush and waiting 5 min since i think i saw a player, and stuff like that yeah...

Yeah bring lots of water, and a knife/hatchet/matches is great advice... U can survive in the wilds for days if you have a couple of water bottles to :)

And offtopic: New video damn need to see that.

Hey!

So i've started WarZ october 31 and been playing ever since but i'm sick and tired of all those hackers sooo now i decided to start this one.

Is there any newbie advices that you can give me?

Keep trolling at minimum

Regards:

Sabi(Dusk)

Not sure if its been mentioned to you yet but dayzdb.com has a map so you can kind of familiarize yourself with high value locations.

Just play it, leave the videos and tutorials alone. Jump in and explore, die often and learn from your mistakes.

Oh and welcome back from the dark side. :P

I also played WarZ first, for a couple of months, and OP let me tell you, there is no comparison.

The above written, DayZ could be the last game I ever play consistently; it's that good. WarZ is one small map, places you've seen and died in countless times, and developers and a community with the mentality of the psychotic undead child of Marquis De Sade. But really, while griefers and hackers exist in DayZ, suffering their actions until you learn the ropes and get established is worth it. I've been at DayZ for over a month, and have scores of hours played, Every aspect immaginable is superior to WarZ. Like another poster said, just hop in and survive.

That's very true.

And add that to the "realistic" atmosphere that DayZ gives off.

And the massive map, it can consume hours of your time before you even know it.

The WarZ never captured that simulation of "reality" it always seemed too arcade-ish.

With DayZ, when you're going through the forest, you feel like you're lost in the forest.

When you stumble across a trail, or a river, or an old dirt road, you feel a sense of relief.

When you're going through a town, or a city, you get that eery feeling that something is watching you.

Just the atmospheric feeling that DayZ gives, ontop of the graphical edge, and "realistic" animations, there is no way in hell you could ever compare DayZ, and The WarZ. I'm fucking pumped for the standalone.

When you see two zombies, don't shit yourself. They don't insta-kill you like they do in The War Z when they're in groups.
