Are bicycles and cars made out of glass? aka - damage

Alright, first of all I can't get around my had why after so many patches cars burst onto flames after hitting a rock or a tree at (very low actually) speeds. I'd understand the ''wheels damaged'' after hitting something but even than its ridiculously overshot and feels like the wheels on cars are made from wood or even better, glass. Why can't the engine get damaged to red first?

I mean if you hit something it would be the bumpers / engine parts that would get damaged. I don't know if its hard to get the ''right'' hit detection but I'm getting seriously frustrated with this.

Of course you going to be like: drive more carful and stuff but even than, there are so many random ''hidden'' rocks and stuff that just waiting for to do a damage to your car its not even funny.

Straight to the point - WILL THIS BE LOOKED INTO IN UPCOMING PATCH? I'll be honest and I just say that I damn hope it will be looked onto rather sooner than later as it constantly ruins my gameing time.

What are your thoughts and how you feel about the really laughable fragileness of all vehicles?

All I can say is drive more carefully. Don't go offroad but if you need to then don't drive too fast. IRL it would be almost impossible to drive that easily on offroad without getting stuck.

Btw this is Arma 2 engine problem so you won't see any improvements at this one.

If your car bursts into flames after hitting a rock you hit that rock at quite some speed. (10-15 kph is enough to tear an engine block out of it's place IRL)

At times i wonder why cars can survive hitting a tree at 50 kph with only damage to a single wheel. There's two sides to that coin.

Then you need to consider the possibility that the vehicles are already quite damaged from "previous owners" during the early days of the apocalypse.

Green status on all parts means it barely runs. It's as repaired as it can ever be but it's a ticking bomb on wheels non the less.

Bicycles break just as easily in real life. The difference is that in real life you don't go 30 kph non stop and when you do you rarely make a 90 degree turn into a tree.

I've never had any serious problem with vehicles exploding easily. Except tractors. And then there's ATVs and their tendency to launch themselves into space.

Had the same thing driving around Namalsk in the civilian Ural. Knocked down at least 10 trees with zero damage shown to vehicle and yet the Ural exploded instantly on merely clipped the gate at one of the small army bases at around 5MPH.

haha so true was flying a littlebird yesterday and it just exploded was full health :lol: dat fresh air is a killer in dayz ! :P
