zombieslayer615 0 Posted February 3, 2013 I think they should because it's torture seeing such a good game and not being able to play it on my OS. I think once they release it as a standalone game they should start working on a version for Mac. :)
bluecrackers 175 Posted February 3, 2013 Mac probably couldn't handle it.
twelfthsense 7 Posted February 3, 2013 Mac probably couldn't handle it.no need for the probably. i mean, they have the CPU power, but, as for the right speed for ram/GPU, its shit, the best they can be used for is multi media
OrLoK 16185 Posted February 3, 2013 Mac's are lovely, if a little overpriced. Why not just run it through bootcamp?RgdsL

terminal_boy 860 Posted February 3, 2013 Macs are good for a lot of things, but graphically demanding games isn't one of them.
OrLoK 16185 Posted February 3, 2013 Surely Arma is more CPU intensive, so Macs *should* be ok? (g5 high end types).
gogosama 0 Posted February 3, 2013 I run it on my macbook pro 13" on bootcamp on low settings and its perfectly playable if not fantastic looking
King Tubbs 224 Posted February 3, 2013 I think it should be released on mac but not after the stand alone, more when the stand alone is on general release in a year or so I don't want to see the development of the game slow down for a mac release and besides the mac's that will be out by that time should be able to handle properly
mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted February 3, 2013 ArmA 2 barely scratches your graphics card compared to the humping your processor gets.I can't speak for the devs in terms of how valid a request this is, but there are always options (bootcamp was already mentioned)I suppose it would depend on how big the demand is for a Mac version.Considering you have the ability to use the windows version anyway, I can't see it happening anytime soon. gesundheitk 420 Posted February 3, 2013 I am down for the idea, but the main reason why Mac isn't so popular with games is because they aren't as easy to develop as Windows, all because Apple likes to keep things on the lockdown (no wonder why they only have 20% in the smartphone market!). Toft 61 Posted February 4, 2013 They shouldnt release it for Mac... Mac users can just sell their mac, and go buy a pc with windows for half time price :P (jk, but true tho)Besides you can still run windows on a mac...

terminal_boy 860 Posted February 4, 2013 Install 64 bit Windows if your Mac has more than 4GB of RAM.That way you can run your DayZ folder from a RAMDisk to save stream textures from the slow HDD most Macs ship with.Oh, and get used to 15 FPS in town and 30 FPS in the woods with everything on Low and all Filtering disabled. Look at my systems, both GPUS are up to 95-100% all the time! My CPUs are not that powerfull means bottleneck = GPU.You can play dayz better on a LowCPU/HighGPU System as on a HighCPU/LowGPU System so it is a GPU game! God Dan 62 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) How about you buy a computer for half the price, and twice the performance if you want to game on it. Think about what you want to use your computer for before buying it Edited March 7, 2013 by God Dan
