does hacking happen often?

Recommended Posts

So my second day on Dayz roaming around up north and the entire server gets teleported the cherno industrial area and instantly surrounded by a hoarde of zombies, I ended up just running out and didn't get bothered by zombies because they were intent on killing everyone that stood and fought. Anyways I came back after about ten minutes and everyone was dead but some of the guys had some serious kit and i ended up being killed by an artillery barrage (yeh some zeds must have got hold of a 105mm haha)

anyways i wasn't bothered as i only had basic stuff but it would fustrate me if i had worked hard to get stuff and end up being killed by some retard whos only achievement in life is to sit in a room and work out how to hack games.

so my questions is, is there something in place that resets all your gear or is it just unlucky, thats day z?

oh yeh and im too new to know but i think its was just a public server in NZ

-ok just searched and saw like a million threads on this

Technically it's scripting not hacking, but yes it happens far too much on open servers :(

Some servers force people to be whitelisted by a forum or other process and that helps, It stops the script kiddies getting on the server or at least makes them require effort to do it

Usually servers get visited by scripters when the server is busy, no point in scripting when there are only a few playing, maximum lulz is when it's full

Find a good private hive with constant admin protection, and it shouldn't be a problem.

Depends what server you play on.

To be fair, I have never actually encountered a hacker

yeh i had read about it and not having a shot at the rest of the dayz community but i thought Aus/NZ servers might be ok because i didn't think anybody would actually be bothered to do it but yeh haha happened second day playing

just wondering do white listed servers require you to play consistantly, as it is ill be lucky if i get the time to play 2-3 times a week

I rarely came across hackers, until battle-eye banned globally banned me and now I have to play on battle-eye disabled servers...

No you can play as much as you want :)

Whitelisting is just to show you'll put the effort into joining a server to play, scripters won't bother and just pick on any populated open server

Not as much of a problem, but you'll see them. Usually it's the smarter ones tat don't want to get caught. They'll use ESP, but you won't get tped, or tped to.

In my estimation 1 of 3 players on non- white listed servers are cheating to some degree. On a good white listed server like the quoted poster is talking about decreases that tenfold at least (that is to say 1 in 30). And those cheaters get rooted out real quick. The policy of the bmrf servers has been pretty good. I'd look there.

US 310 Dallas is a whitelisted server been playing it for over 2 weeks. If someone gets in & hacks, the admin set the server back like 10 min. before the hack. he does a good job of taking care of the server. When you try to enter it will ask you to apply @ calmdowngaming com. then in a few min. you can get in. There are over 400 vehicles on the server & over 20 Helis.

I'm afraid it's a way of life in Dayz. Some times its just folk spawning in weapons etc, other times its spawning everyone I know the air or running around with God mode on.

Whitelisted servers are better but not immune. We find the best way is to kick the hacker and roll back the server. :)

If its not whitelisted, hacking happens often no matter what. Find a good whitelisted server and stick to it. I've yet to play with them, but a lot of people like BalotaBuddies.net, they seem like a good community/group.

I was on a taviana private hive with three online admins, then whole server got thunderdome'd. The admins shut down and rolled back the server. Fast forward about 30 mins, I was gearing up and was proud of myself for finding a kobra in a firehouse. Then out of nowhere another thunderdome. Same thing again, admins shut down and rolled back. 45 minutes or so later I had found a bike and was merrily riding around when the server got thunderdome'd a third time and the admins rage quit.
