Most servers have the global side channel disabled. Why do you want to chat in DayZ anyway? It's not a cafe.

sadly these days COOP among players is basicly non-existant within game.

most are using outside chat programs like TS/Sykpe or what have you..

expect only bullets to do the talking if u stumble upon someone.

shame really..i miss the old days when meeting other players tended to be share a-story time, help each other with needs, or just tag alongs.

these days its KoS, 99.9% of the time.

I've rarely come across speak in DayZ. Some side channel chat but voice not so much. I use Skype outside of the game, so when added voices come through the game I normally mute them as it can be quite distracting/annoying if someone decides to humm or scream 'FRIENDLY' every so often.

Because some of us like to be sociable while playing. We have our own TS server for anyone to use while playing on the Fogeyz server. Side chat on for typed messages only, pop along and say hi. :)
