ottovonlarnie 4 Posted February 1, 2013 ...when you log into a server with you day 11 character only to find that there is a URAL heading directly for you across the fields, and behind said vehicle is a bunch of ne'er do wells with big ass cannons! before I had even walked 5 yards the .50 rounds were whizzing over head! wtf is going on?!I know I was at least semi-exposed, logging out in the middle of a field to the E of NW airfield, but what are the odds of spawning into a server in front of a group of bandits like that?!...needless to say, all kit gone, starting again in elektro, so not not the worst way to begin again!what are your stories boys an girls? what experiences have you had in DAYZ that made you feel like Santa left used jonnies in your stocking at christmas? taco241 393 Posted February 1, 2013 I had a similar thing happen 2 days in a row. Guy in the middle of nowhere in a car heads straight for me. Matteh 63 Posted February 1, 2013 Was at NWAF sniping a small group when a bandit on a bike falls from the sky and starts riding in circles around me, then moves to my right where my friend was spotting for me, then they transformed into a cow and started yelling "HACK ME UP SEAN DO ITTTT" so my friend pulled out an axe and well....hacked him up.I swear DayZ can be just one big acid trip sometimes. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Heard gunshots during the "setup completed" screen, spawned in to the You are dead screen...woop woopI too have experienced gun shots on the 'setup completed' screen before, I spawned into the bushes on the hill to the N of Stary, there was some bandit shooting into town not 10 feet from where I had dropped in! ...it wasn't me who was unlucky that day, but it was a little worrying, that's for sure! Found a wheel, coming back to bus to repair. Out of nowhere zombie knocks me out when i'm repairing the wheel, bleed to death. Spawn in Cherno, run back to bus (long way) in total darkness. plrsniper 87 Posted February 1, 2013 Me and my friend where chasing this guy running on the south side of Stary but we lost track of him in Kabanino so we decide to head back and resume our trip down towards Elektro.We make a short stop to plan the best route, i am in the map screen when suddenly i hear a M249 unload and my friend drops dead.So i quickly close the map and while the dreaded "RECEIVING" message chugs away at my sanity i hear bullets whizzing past me left, right and all around as they are shooting into the big bush i was sitting in.When the message was finally gone i simply point myself away from the noise and start running like a headless chicken. At this point, i hear the M249 LMG, an AS50, a DMR and a M16 or M4 all unloading at me as i, in my confused and exited state is heading down an open field.I take a left, i take a right, i sprint, i dodge. Bullets are raining down all around me. The bandits are no more than 100 meters behind me, all running in a sloppy line formation (wedge as per usual) and stopping from time to time to unload more bullets from their guns.At one point, as i reach another bush, i turn around and empty a clip from my M4 CCO back at them. Hitting one of them but not killing him. Bullets keep landing all around me and whizzing past my little head.I keep on running down a hedge with bushes and the occasional tree. I run for what seems an eternity, surprised i have made it.So yes, this wasn't a bad day for me personally but it was a sh***y day because my friend died and he had good gear, there was nothing i could do to save his gear.As i ran past Stary and past Novy Sobor i felt they had given up chase. They must have spent a full box of LMG ammo, a few stanag clips and a sh*tload of DMR and 50 cal ammo, not hitting me a single time. I started laughing to myself.By chance i run into a decorated Lada, i hop in, i drive off and find myself lost on gravel roads for almost an hour before i finally make my way down to Elektro. I park my car near the watering hole NW of Rog and walk over to the sniper hill in Elektro. Business as usual, come 'ere nooblets, you shall PAY for what the others just did!As me and my friend return to where i parked the car, it's gone... I shed a tear but a car is a death trap none the less.So once again, not a sh***y day at all but still pretty shitty... for someone! :D 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

bloodtrozorx 145 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) Logged out in the tree line on the west side of the Northern Airfield (Taviana) the night before, logged in and during the set up screen all I hear is Heli sounds, loads in and I'm looking at a group of tents (which weren't there when I logged off the night before) and dudes mounting up in a Huey. As I'm thinking about revealing myself they yell on direct that they see a UAZ and they open fire on it. I tried to crawl away but was spotted, killed my attacker with my RPK but my leg was broken...that was long crawl wide north to Ekaterinburg with murderous airborne bandits. Up ahead I see a tent, so I crawl into a bush and watch it for a couple minutes deciding what to do. Out of nowhere 2 guys surround me. A guy in a ghillie and a guy carrying a huge sniper rifle. One guy says, "Hes a noob should we leave him?"I havent even learned how to use direct chat so Im trying to figure it out so I can say Hi.A couple of seconds later........ BAM shot to the head, "YOU ARE DEAD".First life lasted a total of 5 or 6 minutes. It was on a Taviana server with a lot of clans playing and we drove our car to somewhere where we were going to log off for a while (it was me and 1 of my friends). The plan was to stream our next session so he started a stream up and upon us joining in there was a helicopter circling our car. We immediately ran for cover and watched, as they para dropped 2 guys out. Needless to say those 2 never hit the ground alive. After the chopper circling us some more and then flying away I spotted one of the clan members trying to sneak up behind us in the forest and took care of him. After driving down the coast some more the chopper returned and got its revenge. We are still amazed that happened on our log in and while streaming too.
