Helicopter Copilot controls

Recommended Posts

The search didn't turn up much when I used it (admittedly I didn't try that hard so forgive me if this has already been done to death.). :)

Seeing as there is a lot of talk about making helicopter flight more realistic for SA I thought I'd throw this out there. As we know in ArmA 2 the pilot seat is the exclusive method of controlling the helo. The overall ease of flying helos in ArmA makes it reasonable that that missing copilot control is an acceptable oversight but with a more realistic system being able to transfer control of the helo to the copilot would both be realistic and also useful as an aide to teach another player to fly. Seeing as that not all players are going to be one of those mutated crazies who loves flying helos enough to get a TrackIR and ToH... like me

From what little bit I've been playing of the ToH demo there will/should be copilot controls. Copilot up in the front seat can assume control, hopefully this will help solve the 'Pilot Logout/Crash bug' so a group of people in a heli won't die horribly just because their pilot's router decided to take a crap.

I second the copilot idea ! Played ToH online yesterday on the only server still up ans we (the 7 players connected) loved Too fly by pairs (more about freestyle than replacing a dead pilot, but close enough !).

Definitely needs to be in so if the pilot either loses connection or gets shot the copilot can take control.

off topic

TrackIR is pretty cool, have you got DCS: Black Shark or DCS AC-10 warthog if not I recommend you at least get black shark its a great sim and I hear it works great with track IR

I'm pretty much using the TrackIR for ArmA and ToH just now exclusively. I'd get into deeper sims but seeing as that my gaming rig does double duty as my home workstation a HOTAS is out of the question :)
