Baldilocks 3 Posted January 30, 2013 Basically, if there is more than 6-8 players on the same server as me, My game becomes laggy and slow :(Anyone offer any suggestions? If anyone asks what my settings are will Post ASAP as im at work right now :P
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted January 30, 2013 Yeah pos your system spec, seems a bit bad for 8 players.
fathairybeast 246 Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Stay out of major cities. More players = more zombies = more lag.Edit:That probably doesn't make sense. You're just more likely to encounter other players in large cities... and the zombies they spawned. Edited January 30, 2013 by fathairybeast

tonyuk 3 Posted January 31, 2013 That's on board gfx is it not? There's your problem. Dayz is very cpu intensive too even an i7 will drop frames at times.
DazTroyer 227 Posted January 31, 2013 Buy yourself a graphics card for gods sake man. :P
Baldilocks 3 Posted January 31, 2013 Kind of on a laptop :/Whats the best but still cheapish card you can get atm?
Baldilocks 3 Posted February 1, 2013 How about AMD Radeon HD 7670m?Would that work well?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) A graphics card won't help when you're playing on a laptop with a 2.5Ghz dual-core CPU, unfortunately. My laptop's slightly higher spec than yours (with dedicated graphics) and I don't even bother with ARMA on it. Baldilocks 3 Posted February 1, 2013 whats the recommened cpu to run arma and dayz with no problems then?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 1, 2013 For DayZ - I'd recommend a 3Ghz quad-core, minimum. You can get away with slightly less powerful hardware in ARMA II, but the zombies, dead players, dead zombies etc. etc. all over the place in DayZ really put a lot of strain on your CPU. Baldilocks 3 Posted February 1, 2013 I assume that would well for running other games as well?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 1, 2013 Depends on the game. Some games rely on the graphics card a lot more and you'd be fine with a lower spec CPU as long as you had a good GPU but yeah, I'd aim for a 3Ghz+ quad (even overclocked if possible) if you want to play ARMA, DayZ, or a lot of other open world games that require a lot of processing power.
Gooober 34 Posted February 1, 2013 I run i7, 32gb ram, gtx580 and notice same issue....Seems like cherno is worse than electro.... Went from 60-65fps on edge of cherno to 15-20 a block into cherno... But only dropped to 25-30 in electro........ I have a player that complains when we shoot too much because the more zombies the more he lags....
Baldilocks 3 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) Which is better out these three then? (BTW. Im semi new to Pc gaming.)these are all on desktops. Given up with the laptop hunt as i can get better specs from a esktop for the same price :P1.Intel Core i5 3450 Quad Core Ivy Bridge Processor 3.3GHz, AMD Radeon 7770 1GB Video Card 16GB Ram2.Intel Core i3 3220 Dual Core Ivy Bridge Processor 3.3GHz NVIDIA GeForce GT640 1GB Video Card8Gb Ram3.Intel Core i3 3220 Dual Core Ivy Bridge Processor 3.3GHz NVIDIA GeForce GT630 1GB Video Card 8Gb RamWhich one would provide better performance overall?i know this might not be the right place to put this, and if someones comes along and tells me to move it, i shall.EDIT: Use GTAIV as an example of which one would run it best. Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 1, 2013 I'd say #1 but it's a kinda weird build. You don't need 16Gb RAM, you'd be better off with 8Gb of good quality RAM.If you're from the UK maybe try a custom build on Vibox? :)
Baldilocks 3 Posted February 1, 2013 well i gotta make sure i can pay monthly. :P its instead of car for the next twelve months :L Im getting these builds from Ebuyer. But ill take a look at vibox. Dont wanna make it maybe more than 40 per month.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted February 1, 2013 Pretty sure Vibox offer PCs on finance. I'd hope so anyway, some of their top-tier machines are £5k+, LOL!

I'm on an FX 8120 (8 core) overclocked to 4.1GHz and worst case scenario (60 people on server, fighting in elektro) I will hover around 19 fps. That is with 'High' settings, not maxed out, post processing disabled and antialiasing turned on low. I've played on a laptop with 2.3 GHz dual core and HD 3000 Integrated graphics but it wasn't fun.
