I cant join a server?!

Hi, i just bought the game from steam, went through all of the download process and ive installed it all correctly it would seem.

However, and here is my question, i try to join a server and it tells me that i dont have something called "Battleye" could somebody PLEASE give tell me what on earth this is and how i get it?

BattlEye is the anti-cheat ArmA uses.

I thought steam downloaded it when you ran either ArmA or OA to complete installation but can't remember tbh.

You can download the file manually from http://www.battleye.com/download.html

Put the BattlEye client file in your BattlEye folders

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye

Thank you. I went to the page linked however and i get a download which is great. But i cannot do anything with it, when i try to open it it says

"these files are used by the operating system and various programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system. If you still want to open the file click yes, otherwise click cancel"

I tried to open it anyway and it went to "open with" then "attempt to find the program online or search manually" Now im not a computer genius by a log stretch of the imagination and i dont have a clue what to do now?

Did you install it properly?

When you run it through Steam, the option to install/reinstall BE pops up under Play Arma 2.

Make sure you run both Arma 2, then OA at least once to get BE in there, registries et-up and the wutnaught. Then install DayZ 'add-on' after. (through either DayZ Commander or Play withSix) Heck you know what the server's ip is you can join from within game without needing a 'browser'.)

You aren't meant to open it, just put the file in your BattlEye folder.
