Island off-map

I was reading a thread the other night via my mobile and some people were discussing an island that is 14km off map.

Is this true? Does it really exist?

Yes, it is located 11Km south-east of Skalisty but is considerd a debug-area so vehicles and characters will get deleted/reset on relogging.

Anyone have screenshots of it? Or any info on why it was put there? Seems like a cool urban legend worth checking out for die hard DayZ players.

To be perfectly honest, most hard-core DayZ player's know of it / have been there. It's a good 10-20 minute flight via Helicopter, and not worth-while in any other form of transport. It's a very small Island, and is the De-Bug area upon loading (Death is another location). Not much to talk about, really. Also, if you want to really see it, I believe FrankieOnPCin1080p has a video where a Hacker teleport's the Server there, turning them to rabbits; Something like Episode 6.5, don't quote me on that.

Alternatively, you can open up ARMA and put yourself there in the editor. It's not like it's not marked on the map ;)

Oh it is there, been teleported to it a couple of times and once was before the game would log you back on the coast, one of the worst times I have ever had in this game was having a buddy pick me up in a slow ass fishing boat to make the journey back.

just look @ 22:00 it will show you the island.. Afraid its no urban legand.

There's a video where a guy tricks a survivor into getting in a chopper then flies him there (there is a tent), tells him to grab all the gear he wants and as the dude gets out of the chopper, they fly away.....
