Is it worth it?

Recommended Posts

so I was with my buddy, Spencer. We were looking for tires for the bus we had hidden the other day, and it seemed that Elektro was extra lively that day. We looted around the office, grocery store, etc and got some food and ammo for out 2 shotguns. We were good semaritans back then, and Spencer decided to help a bambi by giving him a Lee Enfield. The next thing I know while I'm looting a house, about 5 Enfield shots before I look at the bottom left of my screen to see "Spencer was Killed". I was so mad, I ran out into the middle of the street and saw my friend's dead body. I saw the bambi run into the church. I leaned into the church to see the guy with the winchester now, looting some other bodies he had shot before. I capped him and met up with my friend again before leaving Elektro and giving him back his Winchester.

So, my question is: Is it worth it to be a hero? Or should I KoS for the safety of me and my group?

I feel Hero's enjoy the game longer, Bandits get bored of shooting anything that moves and the game gets old quick.

EDIT: I'm not a Hero, I guess more Bandit. I kill on sight usually. But I avoid confrontation so I'm usually just a survivor. Although if you have a Mic and you sound like a cool dude, I'll give you a chance.

most of my best times have been playing as a hero

but it is differently harder playing that way by playing as a hero i have been shot ALOT

but let me tell you something that happened a few days ago

I was in the north of Cherno near the hospital raiding the flats, when i herd someone being attacked by zeds on the side of the building

I moved down stairs and someone took a shot at me with a snipe i hit the deck and after a min or 2 he started looking around again so I sat up leaned round the door and took him out with my lee

I then ran outside to see the player crawling along the ground he told me he had a broken leg and i replied "get inside, i will get morphine and blood bags" so i ran across the road and did just that

i ran back inside with a zombie conger-line took 2 out morphined him and turned my attention to the zeds coming in the next 5 min was spent fighting a large hoard (i killed 42 zeds I have on idea how many he killed) bandaging each other and the blood baging each other

then we ran out side to raid the body, i got a AS50 with 4 mags, loads of tools, NV and a g17 with 8 full mags

a really intense and fun filled 10 min

I could of let him die and nicked his stuff but it would not have been anywhere near as fun

Being a Hero is fun but don't call people Bambi's all the time when playing. For some people it will make them cap you in the back.

That's exactly what I'm thinking - I'm pretty new but what blows my mind when getting killed on sight from miles away when I have just a pistol or something, is like.. man that's gotta be as boring for him as it was for me! At least come mess with me, see what I'll do, see what kind of dude you're gonna kill - play in a style where you're comfortable using your voice, take on a character. Take a moral risk of regretting something rather than just team-deathmatching it 100%.

Er that being said I love TDM games and also I understand the approach of mostly killing on sight to protect your group & minimize risk. Then again... those things come back around. It's good to at least be open to learning & changing your style & noticing the consequences for your player, your team and then also the whole server & everyone.

I think everyone's gonna play how they're gonna play but it's good to stay flexible with it so the cooler more unexpected kinds of things can start to happen.

This. It's a sign of disrespect and must be dealt with!
