HELP DAYZ NO WORK Bad Serial number given in setup

hello i am wayne i am new to dayz and i played it before but then after 3-4 days this poped up

run steam in admin by right clicking and launch both games to the menus

validate your files first in admin mode then start both games to the main menus validating will remove all the info from your reg and going to the main menus will put it back in

if that dont work it might be permissions problem with the registry

Wait till tomorrow. I think its because they have ran out of serial keys hopefully this will help :)

run steam as admin by right clicking and run as administrator

right click on arma2 then properties then local files then click on verify game cache

do the same for arma 2 oa

then run both to the menus

Uninstall the game by deleting all local content. If it still doesn't work, contact BE. Also, how long has this been happening?

Were you able to fix this? I had the same issue this weekend and was able to fix it after a few hours of messing with it.

Follow these steps to the T...

1. Exit Steam then go to Start, type run then regedit

2. Go to LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node

3 . Now you will see 2 folders, Bohemia Interactive and Bohemia Interactive Studio

4. Do this for both folders-Right click on each folder (NOT the Sub-folders. I wasn't able to delete the file until I did it to the main folder)

-Go to permissions

-Allow full control for all of them

5. Now open each of the folders and delete "ArmA 2 OA"

6. Exit

7. Start Steam and now do what AmberHelios suggested and verify both Arma2 and Arma OA's game cache

8. In Dayz Commander the Arma2 will need to be re-installed, I'm sure you know what to do here

You now should be able to play DayZ :)
