Hatchet for meat?

Okay, so I've played for a bit now. I'm still not much more than a moving target but I'm getting there. :)

Anyhow, killed a cow with the hatchet and was shocked to find I couldn't get any meat from the cow - apparently you need a hunting knife.

If the hatchet is good enough for killin', it should be good enough for hacking off some meat to take with you.

Dunno, a sledge hammer will kill a cow, dunno how much success you will have at skinning and gutting the bugger with it... maybe your axe is too blunt :D

I guess it makes sense you can't since it's an axe. I think the weirdest part is you can't eat raw meat, makes sense to cook it but I've started to death on Namalsk once because I couldn't find food but had plenty of raw meat but no matches.
