Day z commander not working?

Hello guys I just bought Arma combined ops and I installed arma 2 and oa on my steam files.I installed Day z commander and I put in my server ip my friend made and I tried to connect and it keeps saying arma 2 is not installed I don't know why this isn't working I really want to play Day z but it wont let me.I hope someone can reply.

You have to run ArmA 2 and Arrowhead both right up to the main menu once before you can install DayZ.

did you run steam in admin mode and start each game so that it puts the details into the registry you might have to validate the files so the registry entries deffo get merged

Yeah, I'd verify your game caches, restart your system and try again.

Also, do you install your games to the default Steam directory?
