Sula 1205 Posted January 18, 2013 Nice production on that video, friend. I like the music too. But I'm not sure you should be recommending that people suicide to avoid areas where the loot isn't what you want. That's the reality of being a survivor! My advice would be to always head up coast and keep looking. They can use your excellent tip about how to avoid zombies by lying in corners, for example.
OrLoK 16182 Posted January 18, 2013 Suiciding to have another spawn location? Pah!
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) It's a nicely made vid but TBH encouraging players to "suicide" in order to get nearer loot undermines the whole point of DayZ. Surviving well in DayZ should be about coping with the hand you've been dealt. Also, telling noobs to use loot maps is another mistake as learnig yourself where to find things and exploring the map is part of the game, for me metagaming ruins a big part of that exploration. To sum it up I really don't like this as a guide. Acix 132 Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Another Suicide Post....There are tons of quick easy spots between kamenka and Cherno to get some gear before heading into the city. Not to mention if youre a new player, I dont suggest running straight for Cherno to get geared up, Its all PvP all day in there! herrjon 478 Posted January 18, 2013 Why die at Komarovo? That's ideal for a starting spawn. Go to factory for hatchet, knife, and drink, then Balota Airstrip for a gun, and then you have a good entry point into Cherno. You got lucky spawning in Vysota next, but with all the respawns you did it probably would've been quicker to just run to Cherno from Kamenka. Or if you don't go that route, head North the Zelenogorsk and hit deerstands and barns for guns.
Sula 1205 Posted January 18, 2013 One of the things I do, if I spawn at Kamenka is just check each railway station platform for loot. I've often found an axe, and some food and drink, plus ammo I can use later. I avoid the wooden cottages with only one exit as I have died in those a lot and often find dead players already there. Now I might try it, as I've learned you can lie on the ground and the zeds might not see you. Also, I run up the coast to check the building at Komarovo, which is brilliant for loot, and the big metal barn next to it (small room at far side on the top floor), and the sheds. It's tricky with the sheds if you're new you have to watch those zeds. Then I shoot along the coast to Balota, check both big metal barns/sheds next to the sea, then cut through the trees just passed the barns and run across the fields to the hangars and air traffic control tower, to see if there are any weapons. By that point my backpack is usually full of stuff but sometimes there's just nothing to be found. So I head back across the field to the 4 deer stands at the balota military tents (nothing in those so don't bother looking but the deer stands often have weapons and ammo). Then it's on the cherno to upgrade my backpack to alice pack and pick up a compass, matches and hunting knife if I haven't found those already.

I may be misunderstanding what you're talking about, but the deerstands at the Balota med tents do spawn gear and weapons. I have actually found quite a few nice items there, and almost always head there first as a new spawn if my spawn location is reasonable for it.
z13l5ch31b3 1 Posted January 18, 2013 Dudes, i know , too where to find easily good objects. But my friends f.e. are new to arma and the whole map. After 2 weeks of playing, ppl know the map. But how many players get lost because they're just frustrated in getting murdered by other players as a bambi ? This isn't the ultimate guide for new players, just a hint to look after towns on the dayzdb map -raising their awareness for the map and helping them to proof their senses of orientation.
